Election time is here ! We can tell by the sprouting of signs in lawns, billboards, newspapers, TV and Radio ads. (which is, it seems at least one or two out three ads). They fall into three different catagories. One is telling you how bad a person their opponent is. The second is telling you what a terrific person the one who’s being told what a louse he is by his opponent. The Third is PROMISES, that are in truth what the politician thinks the people he represents want to hear. So, today let’s take a short look at how valid, or likely those freely strewn promises have of actually happening. It is really more complicated than what we see here; but this will give you somewhat of an idea how most of the things promised Won’t happen. I would much rather hear, “These are the things I WANT to do”. Rather than, “This what I WILL do, if elected”. Doesn’t that sound more truthful? So here we go. When politicians run for office, they often make a variety of promises to the electorate. These campaign promises are designed to align with their constituents’ values and concerns, and are intended to illustrate the candidates’ goals if they are elected. However, it is true that these promises sometimes extend beyond what the politicians themselves can personally deliver. Let’s look at some of the reasons why this is the case. 1. Separation of Powers: In many democratic societies, powers are divided among different branches of government. For example, in the United States, power is split between executive, legislative, and judicial branches. If a candidate running for an executive office (like President or Governor) makes a promise that requires legislation to be passed or changed, they will need cooperation from the legislative branch where lawmakers may not share their views or objectives. 2. Opposition: Politicians often face opposition from other elected officials who either have different views or might not want them to succeed for political reasons. This opposition can come from within their own party (intra-party) or from other parties (inter-party). This opposition might block or delay legislation needed to fulfill certain promises. 3. External Constraints: Sometimes events outside a politician’s control can hinder their ability to fulfill promises made during campaigns. The economy could enter a recession; there could be natural disasters; international events could demand time and resources–all these factors can divert attention and resources away from certain campaign promises. 4. Public Opinion: Public opinion can shift over time due to external factors or changes in societal attitudes which may make it difficult for politicians to keep certain campaign promises without risking public approval. 5. Constraints by Law and Constitution: Many countries have constitutions that place restrictions on what government bodies can do within their jurisdiction which may limit a politician’s ability to fulfill some election promises. Despite these constraints, it’s important for citizens in any democracy to hold elected officials accountable for their campaign pledges within these realistic limits. If a politician consistently fails to meet their promises without good reason, voters can express their dissatisfaction at the ballot box in the next election. An educated electorate is a key pillar of any healthy democracy, and understanding the real constraints politicians face can help voters make informed decisions about which candidates truly have their best interests at heart. Indiana Super Bowl Vs Worker’s Rights
By now you all know of the struggles of the Union workers in Indiana. You also know Indiana is hosting the Super Bowl. It is too bad the legislators in Indiana refuse to listen to the people who elected them. It is too bad they do not have a sense of timing. But as we try to keep up on politics a little. (Remember I do not believe in POLITICS in GOVERNMENT). Politics get in the way of doing the bidding of the people. Looking back on the administration of one MITCH DANIELS, it is plain to see there has been no regard as to the welfare of the working man, in Indiana. He has led a government “of the people“ by “BIG BUSINESS” for “BIG BUSINESS” He finagles what ever Big Business wants, (after all they are the ones who line politicians pockets with the GREEN). It is just too bad the football fans from around the country who are visiting Indiana to be caught up in his MESS. But he tends to play on the big field. Regardless of the consequences of the STATE, COUNTRY, or PEOPLE he pretends to represent. From what I have seen of this person, I, personally can’t understand why anyone would vote for him in the first place. But the citizens of Indiana apparently did. People of America would you,(how could you), ever consider someone of his caliber for President of the United States. Oh yeah that’s right you elected Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama. Nevermind. So FOOTBALL fans you have a right to blame the Hoosiers, (no disrespect to Indiana University); for trying to spoil your stay in Indiana. Had they had any sense they would not have put Daniels in the position of TSAR. So I recommend you just ignore the fact Daniels intentionally put you in the middle of his MESS. Enjoy the weather Indiana is experiencing. Enjoy the Game. NFL owner, remember what Daniels has put you in the middle of his MESS. Remember this well if Indiana ever wants you back for another Super Bowl. That Is How I See It. PS. I remember seeing one of his campaign speeches in which he states would never back or sign any legislation that interfered with worker rights. Views: 144
Election Mud
Welcome to the MUDSLIDE. Election time is here. At least local elections. It truly amazes me how these politicians, these public figures, these people with college degrees, who have other people with college degrees revert to a a kindergarten mentality. I apologize to you kindergartners, as you are probably more advanced than these so called leaders, and their think tanks behind them. If you listen to their ads you will learn that each one is a perfect fit to represent you. they have never made any mistakes, or miscalculations, if you will. But their opponents have done NOTHING right. The one I have been listening to in particular, (because one of the candidates apparently has more money than Bill Gates. Every ad is centered on what the incumbent has done wrong. The poor guy must have have been kidnapped by aliens as he has not fulfilled a single promise he made that got him elected. I assume he will be returned after this election is over. Meanwhile I can remember when the other candidate was in office as an assistant for the job she is running for. They didn’t accomplish anything, and did exactly all the wrong things she is accusing the now incumbent of doing. Probably those same aliens grabbed her during her reign and brought her back after her term. The way I see it these alien abductors erase all memory of them being gone, and the being that replaced them returns to outer space. What I would like to hear is WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO. NOW!!! If I vote for you. We have problems both economic, and political, as well as dozens of other smaller problems. What are your plans to ease unemployment, school budget cuts, etc. Perhaps I just miss these positive ads. But it could be that there are either none or very few. Maybe I am so far below your intelligence level that you don’t know how to communicate to me. Or perhaps I am just to poor to understand the ECONOMIC ramifications. Living at or below poverty level. What could I know about economics. Enough of the supposed history of the clients. It’s time to look to the future. The pass is passed. (Although the past performance should be considered), Since you millionaires running for office have nothing in common with me. TELL me what your answers are for the future. What the heck are you going to do to correct these past errors. Apparently you have no ideas on the FUTURE or you could promote them. Not bash your opponent.
