As I have stated many times in my posts. I AM NOT REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT. I have no political allegiance. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR POLITICS IN GOVENMENT. My Observations during my life span is that POPULAR PRESIDENTS are the ones who do nothing UNPOPULAR PRESIDENTS are the ones who DO something. The last 4 years we had an unpopular president. (As seen by the MEDIA), Right or Wrong President Trump tried to do something. However he was faced by a Democrat packed HOUSE. Unlike any I have seen. They were SO disappointed of not SEATING Hillary Clinton, (which would have been a disaster for our Good Old USA. (My opinion). They never had time to do anything for “US”. The ONLY AGENDA on their 4 year shift; was to undercut the “REPUBLICAN” , who defeated their Dear Hillary. It didn’t matter if it were Donald Trump, or you, or I who defeated H.R. Clinton. The agenda would have still been the same. Undercut the person who won out over her. Now, don’t get me wrong. I did not agree with everything, our President said or did. But he TRIED to some good things. Only to meet opposition. In fact I would have voted for Biden; had he been the Democratic candidate rather than Clinton. This year was different. I found Biden to be somewhat INDECISIVE. It is MY OPINION The Democrats are using him as a pawn, to advance their Socialistic views. (As in Union Soviet SOCIALIST Republic). The “HOUSE”, has already began laying the foundation to remove Biden from office. Remember when the “PELOSI FAMILY”, was plotting to make it so “ THE HOUSE”, could declare the President “UNFIT “? My personally conducted “STRAW POLL” , came to the following conclusion: Biden is given at most 1 year as President, before the HOUSE begins the procedure to deem him UNFIT. Thereby achieving their immediate goal of a WOMAN PRESIDENT. I hope I am wrong. I hope Biden will wake up and see how the Democrats intend to use him, and actually accomplishes something. I hope I am wrong about the plot of the “PELOSI FAMILY”. That is HOW I SEE IT! Views: 119

FLORIDA “STAND YOUR GROUND’ SHOOTING IN CLEARWATER
AFTER reviewing the video posted on : https://www.yahoo.com/news/florida-gunman-not-charged-killing-151300042.htm (Be aware these types of videos are sometimes pulled shortly after being posted so if you don’t find it here you can probably search for it and find it somewhere. STAND YOUR GROUND allows a person to use deadly force if they believe they are in MORTAL DANGER. I see this as a Murder case. I am not saying pre-meditated. I don’t think he went there with the intent of killing or even harming anyone. But still some type of Murder charge should be filed. Although the sheriff’s dept did not. As you can see the one man is down. Draws his weapon. The slain man backs away. At this point the potential danger is subsiding. Had the slain man taken even one step toward the downed man. I could see this as being perceived as aggressive behavior. HOWEVER; The step was in a retreating line. At that point in time there was no immediate danger to the downed man. I can not say what state of mind the downed man was in. Obviously he was agitated state of mind. Probably not thinking clearly at the time. (Which I think should be considered in evidence presented in his defense). BUT; I do not think that is grounds for STAND YOUR GROUND. I am a SECOND AMENDMENT advocate. Which also means I do approve the prudent use of guns for self defense. I do support STAND YOUR GROUND. I do not think this instance falls under STAND YOUR GROUND. Yes the man should not have shoved the other person down. HE should have just stepped in between his girl friend and the other party. Of course I am not a florida resident. ( I know i didn’t capitalize the “F” I am not a florida fan. Drove there spent 5 hours at our destination and have had no desire to return. In fact for me to return it would cost them $1 million a day plus expenses) How they interpret their laws is up to them. THAT IS HOW I SEE IT! Just learned this not the first confrontation the downed man had at this location. Views: 121
ORLANDO PULSE CLUB SHOOTING, MY THOUGHTS.
I feel sorrow for the families of both victims, and shooters family. It is a hard thing to accept on both sides. That a friend or family member uselessly had their life terminated, or suffered injury. Some of which could prove to be a life altering thing. I am certain the memory will always be life changing. The shooter’s family, because it has to be hard to accept the fact that someone you knew, cared for, and LOVED, could possibly be involved in such a cowardly act. By the way ISIS has reportedly admitted they were behind the attack. CAN YOU SAY “TERRORIST”? Apparently Barack nor Hillary can’t. Hillary and her gun hating lemmings will have a field day with this one as they always do. It seems they look forward to unfortunate events, (I don’t particular like to use “event” here but, I think it adequately fits, the way Hillary/Barack look at this); It gives them a exvuse to strut their DIS-ARMING AMERICA agenda. I can’t help but wonder how they would feel if the people they have guarding them were to suddenly lose the guns. Then the agents would not be there. I can’t afford to hire people to be my personal guards. That would put them on equal ground with me. Walking around in a city or country side with no means to protect me from harm. Many times I read of people in perfectly NICE neighborhoods being injured or killed. Not just guns,…. But Knives, Arrows, Strangulation, Arson. Beaten to death, just to name a few. Many times when I go to major sporting events, or Conventions, I must make my way on dark streets, or by alleyways, or even recessed doorways. AND don’t give me that old “police presence” will protect me. I could be attacked and my assailant far away before the nearest police officer could come to my aid. BUT, if I get to my destination I most likely not be allowed to have any means of protection on me. Thus I am open to attack. Excuse me for straying a little, however I believe it is important in relating my feeling on these MASS KILLINGS. 1. Have these anti gun people realized. MOST ALL, of these mass killings have been in “gun free” zones. Schools, Churches, even Government buildings, or annexes. Cowards will take a path of least resistance. FIFTY people killed. I just can’t help but wonder why so many killed and injured before police arrived. After all according to the anti gun people this is why we have them to protect and prevent something like this from happening. Always in the right place at the right time. (Apparently even after they arrived). Perhaps if one or two of the patrons, or employees had a a legally permited GUN; MAYBE, JUST, one of them could have stopped the perpetrator, before all of the death and injury. HOW, many people might still be alive? Uninjured? If only HALF of them, heck even one would have been saved. Isn’t that worth something? Apparently not according to those who want to be like Hitler, and those others whose first steps were to disarm the citizenry). GEE! Just think if the British had of thought of this we COULD all still be British subjects, OR overrun by some other country. 2. While, as a CHRISTIAN, I can’t condone homosexuality. But neither do I wish to give up my rights to them either. I, in fact, still can’t stop wondering if a boy in a neighboring school, of mine, who everyone knew was a homosexual, but no one I know of treated him any differently, BUT the fact that when he “hit the beach” of Viet Nam, It was reported he was the first one killed. Enemy coincidence, or was he killed by “friendly fire” I have always wondered about that. I am affronted by their constant public displays (as a group), (“LGBT”). It would appear to me, this group of people were not hurting anyone, they were not blatantly displaying their sexuality in anyone’s face, The assassin may have been known to some of the club attendees, as it was stated he was a “REGULAR” at the club. BUT it is not my place to judge them. That is up to GOD. I am not qualified to say what his Judgement will be. I guess I am more offended by what appears to me a CALL to put my religious beliefs on the back burner while demanding I accept their lifestyle. I treat all people equally, unless they give me reason not to. Being Homosexual is not one of them. But I would surely like to be able to use the word “GAY” properly, and not have it confused with homosexual . As it is now used, apparently everyone in the 1890’s were homosexual. “GAY NINETIES” We even had a little eating place “very small, really good food. The name was GAY DAN’S. ( meaning a fun place to eat, apparently owned by someone named DAN). When homosexuals became associated with the word “GAY” the small eating chain had to close it’s doors. 3. Need for more extensive background checks? EXCUSE ME! I believe the FBI investigated Omar Marteen at least 3 times, before he purchased his weapons. Why this didn’t trigger a flag on the background check is beyond me. That seems pretty EXTENSIVE to me. In the state where I live we have the NICS background check, even when purchasing a squirrel rifle. I also know IF there is a flag of something unverified, or whatevere reason, the inquiry comes back with a hold, ( I think of 5 or 7 days), so a more extensive background check can be made. 4. A woman I recall being interviewed about gun laws, stated, “All anyone has to do is go online and buy a gun and have it shipped to his door.” Ignorance of the law is no excuse. In my state, YES! I… Continue reading ORLANDO PULSE CLUB SHOOTING, MY THOUGHTS.
What Does Our Future Hold?
While watching recent news casts, and some reality show, which I rarely do, I began wondering, what DOES our future hold? Will we be prepared? Here in the good old USA, (The A is there. It just doesn’t show up too well on a white background). Our forefathers lived primarily off the land. Hunting, Trapping, Fishing, and Tilling the land. Yes we had merchants, who for the most part bartered their wares for their needs. We now live in a more industrialized nation. Few people are self sufficient any more. We mostly rely on someone else to provide our wants and NEEDS. NEEDS, being the operative word here. What I will be addressing today is our Needs. We all want somethings, but we can live without them. Needs is what it takes for us to maintain life. If for some reason our Dollar fails, what will we do? Revert to the way of our forefathers. Today we have a much larger population. Less farms, and woodlands. Less farmland means we have less ground to grow our food. Looking at it this way the farmer has an edge; very slight. They will be able to grow crops, plant gardens, and may, or may not, have a wooded area to Hunt and Trap, or somewhere to Fish. Will they be able to support all of us? Let’s probe deeper. When I was a child we had an 80 acre farm. We grew crops, we had a garden we planted every year. We had livestock, so we had meat, milk, and butter. We had chickens, so no problem with eggs, or chicken to eat. In our garden we also had berry bushes. We knew our neighbors well, even though there may be a mile or more from us. We knew if there was something we needed, and our neighbor had it they would help us our, maybe just out of friendship, or maybe they needed or just wanted, we would trade. Maybe it was feeding their livestock, or pets, while they were away for a day or more. Maybe, it was something to be made. My Mother was an excellent seamstress. My Father was pretty much a Jack of All Trades. Now, farmers have fields bigger than our farm. On the obverse side of the coin. Farmers will need fuel for their machinery, Electricity, to run some of their equipment. But if our dollar collapses, where will they be able to get the fuel? Barter for it? Maybe until the current supply runs out. Then WHAT? During this time how will people react? Will they be willing to help? Or will they become hoarders? Can’t blame them. Family comes first. So what will you and I do? Will we become Looters, or poachers. Living in the city now, I may become a poacher. Depending on if someone gives me permission to hunt or trap, or fish, on their land. Unlike the days of our forefathers there is little open wilderness to pursue these necessities. I can not see myself becoming a looter. I have heard depression era survivors, admit stealing bread or some food item to feed their family. Now with loss of so much open land, and the increased population, will there be enough wildlife to support all of us? There is a group out there referred to as “PREPPERS”. They tend to stockpile food, guns, ammo, etc.. How long will their stores last? In a prolonged dollar collapse, they too will be in the same boat as the rest of us. Personally I do not have the funds available to “prep”. So I will try to keep my rifles, and shotguns, in good shape, and buy a box of ammunition, when I have a few dollars to spare. (Note to self: invest in real traps, not just the ones I built). But I doubt I could ever amass enough to last. (Unlike my teen age hunting buddy, I miss occasionally). It is not like you could stock up on wild game, you need a freezer or some way to preserve the meat. Some you could make into Jerky, extending it’s shelf life. (If you know how to do that the old fashion way, without electricity). Communication: How will we communicate. If you are like me I must have the TV on or I can’t sleep. If for some reason it goes off during my sleep hours, I will awake, and stay awake until it comes back on. I am sure I will adapt, but not without a struggle. As a HAM radio operator, I will be able to communicate with other HAMs, until my batteries die. So I suppose I should look into getting some sort of hand crank generator made to be able to charge my HAM equipment. Or Better yet, I need to set up a small solar power system just to keep my batteries charged. (So you see we do have at least one option to electric power, (as long as the solar batteries last). We all need to prepare ourselves. I’m not saying I believe anything like such a disaster will happen. But as Benjamin Franklin said in reference to fire prevention: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. We need to hone our survival skills. As a whole I think the AMISH people now have the best chance of survival. Maybe I should look into buying a canoe.???? That Is How I See It. Afterthought: Tools are another thing we should be sure we have on hand. Views: 112
Minimum Wage Debate (My View)
Do We Need A New National Minimum Wage?? There are arguments FOR and AGAINST. Most of you have heard the arguments FOR. Fast food restaurants, janitorial workers, migrant workers, etc, etc.. (Aside: Does a sentence ending in an abbreviation need 1 period, or 2; one for the end of the abbreviation, and one to end a sentence. If you know please tell me). I realize these are low paying jobs, with little benefits. BUT: what about the waitresses , for example. In the state I live, these people earn about $2-$3, an hour. The reason for this is the proprietors expect the patrons to pay their help. (TIPS), This is another topic for later. True some waiters/waitresses make big tips. I was speaking to a WAITER, who works in our State Capital, near all the Convention Centers, and Athletic Arenas. This restaurant is well known all across the USA. The wealthier clients entertain there quite often. He told me he and his colleagues earn between $60,000.oo and $70,000.oo, in TIPS a year. But away from there in your average town I have noticed the average tip is about $1.oo per Person. Therefore you can add that to the low wage paid and they are still making less than the average fast food server. In just this instance we have a huge difference in pay. So you raise the Minimum wage for the small town wait people, to lets say $10.oo an hour. That sounds good. Specially to the ones in the big City Fancy Restaurants who are making the $60-70,ooo.oo tips. (by the way the wait people in our area are required by the management to split their TIPS with the BUSBOY, COOK, DISHWASHER, and I have been told the owner of the establishment in some cases. So a minimum wage raise may help some people, and others even more. But how will this affect the Senior Citizen. The same Citizen who financed the bailouts, by not getting Social Security raises for 2 years running. When I calculated the money the government saved more than doubled the amount used for the bailout. My friend who was forced into retirement, and lost not only money in his 401k, but was forced to spend it to pay off bills that would have been paid, had he been able to work the next 6 years as had been planned. (His place of employment closed it’s doors. Although qualified and able he could not get a job. Why? AGE. Not what he was told but the real reason). Making him rely heavily on Social Security for his needs. He showed me his check, after working, and paying into Social Security for 45 years his check, after the government takes out for his MEDICARE. Oh yes they take that out of your Social Security check. Break the remainder down to a40 hour week, then down to per hour. His gross pay is $6.49 an hour. (Which puts him, I believe, below poverty level. This before he pays his Supplemental Insurance, which helps pay what Medicare does not. Plus he has to pay for Eye Care, Dental, and Medicine. This Supplemental Insurance costs him $150.oo a month, and his insurance agent tells him that will go up effective the first of August. He tells me this insurance goes up more each year the small raise he gets. In other words he goes further behind each year. Will he get a raise to even things out in purchasing power. Well not as long as Obama, is in office. So. What is my point you ask. Raising the minimum wage will put more money in some people’s pocket. Business knowing there is more money out there will merely raise their prices, thus negating the raise. It always happens. The government will take in more money, via taxes. People will cheer a Minimum Wage Increase. What they don’t understand is it is merely a sham. They won’t be able to live any better. So What Is The Point? T hat Is How I See It. PS: Sorry if I rambled on and strayed, but I think you get the idea. Views: 120
Do Our Legislators THINK
It has recently come to my attention, the evils lurking in the banning of incandescent light bulbs. It seems the new CFL bulbs, or whatever you call the CFLs. According to an elderly friend of mine , he and his cronies, while sitting at the local diner for morning coffee; (he calls it his coffee break. He had one at work, and now he needs one to get away from his wi…er, house for a while. Yeah! That’s the ticket. Away from the house). The topic of the proposed LIGHT BAN, came up. It was at this meeting of the minds, he learned many other people have claimed the new CFLs, have caused just about everything from regular headaches, stomachaces, tired eyes,(can’t read as long as they “ustacould”), migraines, a feeling of tiredness, (causing them to have to take an extra nap), angst, and an increased inability to cope with their wife. And it must be the reason they seem to be getting sick more often. Now taking in all of these “facts”. Because I know this to be a very stubb….studious group. How could our legislators possibly disregard their research. and ban incandescent bulbs. After checking these complaints, I have found various articles that support this groups thinking. So maybe there is something to their statements. HEY ! Legislators, LOOK into this. Please. That Is How I See It. Views: 172
Obama On A Genocide Mission?
Gen·o·cide [jen-uh-sahyd]: A noun. The deliberate ans systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or CULTURAL GROUP. Since Mr. Obama has taken office it seems he has pinpointed the elderly as the means to balance his budget. Or should I say slant things to his pet projects. What do you do if you want to spend money you don’t have. You eliminate things you don’t need. Divert that money to what you want. That my friends is just what Mr. Obama has done. First on his agenda was to bail out his buddies in the banking, and manufacturing industries. (Rich helping Rich get Richer). To do this he refused to admit the costs of living rises (Medicinal, Utilities, and yes gasoline) . He even wants to change the formula for figuring these costs, because he says they project a false and higher cost of living than is a true cost of living . Therefore not giving the elderly the raises they deserved, since he has been in office. To subsidize his buddies, the elderly have, by not getting a raise for 2 years. Has amounted to between $45 and $90 trillion dollars. That more than paid the trillions given to the bail out effort. These people have paid into this account for 40 to 50 years. It is not their fault the Government gave that money to other Government agencies. (Which fail to pay it back. let alone pay interest). merely a mismanagement of funds. Some of you will think the amount paid in does not equal the amount paid out….HOWEVER… Let us not forget the INTEREST which this money had been properly invested. How many of the people who have paid in never receive a check, because of death. Or just drop out of the system. How much of this money is being spent on people who never paid in a cent. How about planning our own retirement income. I did this. I invested the maximum I could. Two years later it was all gone. My company shut the doors, Not my fault. Due to EMERGENCIES, and the need to get by until I could find another job, (which has been 3 years now). I have no money. The barter system works fairly good but I still have to do without a lot, So you see that doesn’t help either. So how does this relate to GENOCIDE? By denying the elderly people the money needed to exist on. The poverty level is $10,890 a year. If I were to be on Social Security now I would be getting about $13,800 a year. But as of now I would have about $1392 a year subtracted before I get my check for MEDICARE, Which I have also been paying for all my working life. That takes me to $12,408, a year. Now let us not forget we need a supplement insurance. This cost is around $125 a month (according to friends paying it). This is another $1500 gone. Leaving us with $10,908. This puts you at just $18 above poverty level. Now subtract a conservative average of $600 a month for rent or mortgage. There goes $7200. Let’s see, that takes us to $3708 dollars to pay utilities, and buy food, house or renter insurance, life insurance and let’s not forget MEDICINE, Car insurance if we are lucky enough to have one. But then you would not be able to put gas in it. And let’s not forget we have to pay SALES tax on everything. Including our utilities. It seems that Mr. Obama’s plan is eliminate the elderly as quickly as possible. After all they are a drain on his economy. Genocide or what. I see it as an attempt to eliminate the elderly. That Is How I See It. How many people do we have die of starvation or heat, or just plain a lack of compassion by our leaders. more than between find merely find find Views: 180
How Expensive Can OTC Medicine Be?
While recently killing time in a local Wal*Mart store. I happened by a middle of the aisle display for abreva. (A cold sore medicine). I remember we once used a product called campo-pehnique, (sorry if I misspelled that), which cam in a small bottle and worked just fine. As I remember it cost just a little more than a stick of chap stick. I was really shocked to see a “discounted on sale” price of $15.12 for a little tube containing .07 oz. I ‘m sure it is a very good product, but come on….$15.12 for 7 hundredths of an ounce. Talk about the price of bottle water being high at about 89 cents (in our area) for a 20 oz bottle. Think gas is high at $3.79 9/10 a gallon. Let’s look at this abreva cost. As you know I am not very good at math so this is just as an example. I think it takes 700 of these tubes to make a full ounce, If I am wrong you can do the following computation with the correct number. Take the sale price, $15.12 per .07 oz X 700 =$10,584.00 an ounce. Note abreva is sold I believe by net wt. So comparing to water or gas we would have to figure the net weight for an ounce of either. For example we know FLUID oz is a measure of volume, and net wt oz is a measure a measure of WEIGHT. The ounce is still an ounce, it takes 16 oz to make a pound. A gallon of water weighs approximately 8.34 pounds. So we are now comparing weight to weight. This means 133.44 oz to a gallon. Now take the $10,584.oo an ounce for abreva, times th3 133.44 oz in a gallon of water. Guess what that would bring the cost of of a gallon of water to $141,232,8.96.oo. A 20 oz bottle of water would cost $11,769.41. So who can complain about 89 cents for a 20 oz bottle of water? It is but a drop in the bucket. If you want to figure this for gasoline. Gasoline varies from about 5-6 pounds, so for our sake here we will use the more prominent estimate of 6 pounds per gallon. means about 96 ounces. 96 ounces times $10,584.oo = (appx) $1,016,064.oo So I ask you is abreva really worth the price you pay? I suppose the answer is yes, if it does what you want of it. But comparatively It appears to me to be WAAAY overpriced. That Is How I See It. more than Views: 171
Legalize Marijuana?
Legalize marijuana or not legalize marijuana. That is the question. We have heard this argument for many years. Does it really matter? I must admit I have never tried it so maybe I fail to see the advantage, or disadvantage here. From what I understand drugs like marijuana have been used in many different rites during the course of our history. The American Indian supposedly used this or a similar drug in some of their ceremonial rites. The tribes of Africa used similar drugs for the same reason. For all I know our forefathers may have participated in this type of rites, or maybe even recreational purposes. Perhaps the medicinal uses were known way back when. I remember hearing of our ancestors, and even royalty abroad having snuff boxes. (And it wasn’t for tobacco snuff). No! I don’t know the answer. What I do know is this. If it is legalized, our Government will be able to get a piece of the action, (money) . The cost will most likely go down. Thus crime created by trying to get marijuana should go down. I suppose these would all be pluses, and I can’t really think of any minuses; other than there will always be those who have no legal claim to buy marijuana. Also if it is legalized, will growers be monitored like the existing drug companies, like Eli-Lily. If it is legalized will insurance companies pay for it. How much more will this cost us, the consumer in increased insurance premiums. And how will it affect hiring practices of business. There is mass impacts involved here. I’m sure more than I can foresee. Finally let me insert my personal observation. People already take legal drugs, illegally. I know of one young lady who stole a doctors prescription pad, and wrote her own prescriptions. This was many years ago, and the doctors signature would be impressed on the sheets below it. Do doctors now take measures to prevent this? I also know of people who will steal a relatives much needed medication out of their medicine cabinet. Without regard to the relatives health. I also know peoples homes are broken into for the purpose of finding legal drugs. Legal or not people will get their hands on them and use them illegally. MOOT POINT. Does it really matter if it is or is not legal. The government will benefit by getting a portion of the proceeds. That Is How I See It. more than involved Views: 209
Motorcyclist Has Tree Branch In Cheek
While flipping through the TV channels the other day a teaser, (a short blurp of an upcoming story), A motorcyclist walked into the ER with about a 5 foot long 1 1/2 inch tree branch sticking through his helmet shield. This was on DHF; Discovery Health & Fitness channel. I figure they will have it on again, if you want to catch the full story. A young man riding his motorcycle lost control of his motorcycle, and as he said, “…luckily a brush pile broke his fall….” He righted his motorcycle, hopped back on and headed to the ER. When he came in he proceeded explaining what happened and came to the ER because he was hot, and couldn’t get his helmet off. He was very nonchalant about the whole thing. Like this happens everyday. The motorcyclist was wearing a full face helmet, with shield. The branch punctured the shield, and proceeded through the cheek into the neck. The doctors had to borrow pruners from the hospital maintenance crew, cut the branch about 4-5 inches up from the shield; just so they could remove the helmet. They proceeded to pull the branch out. Checked for further injury, sewed him up. He left the ER just as if nothing unusual had happened and rode his motorcycle home. The reason I wrote about this is to demonstrate, that although we take precautions and do what we need to do; protective clothing, helmet and shield; and aware of our surroundings. we are still at the mercy of the unexpected. I don’t know, but I suspect his injuries might have been greater if he had not had his helmet on. But what I want to say is protect ourselves as we might, a freak accident can still sneak in on you. Just be careful, and enjoy your ride. That Is How I See It. Views: 159
