ORLANDO PULSE CLUB SHOOTING, MY THOUGHTS.

I feel sorrow for the families of both victims, and shooters family.  It is a hard thing to accept on both sides.  That a friend or family member uselessly had their life terminated, or  suffered injury.  Some of which could prove to be a life altering thing.  I am certain the memory will always be life changing.   The shooter’s family, because it has to be hard to accept the fact that someone you knew, cared for, and LOVED,  could possibly be involved in such a cowardly act. By the way ISIS has reportedly admitted they were behind the attack.  CAN YOU SAY “TERRORIST”?  Apparently Barack nor Hillary can’t. Hillary and her gun hating lemmings will have a field day with this one as they always do.  It seems they look forward to unfortunate events, (I don’t particular like to use “event”  here but, I think it adequately fits, the way Hillary/Barack look at this);  It gives them a exvuse to strut their DIS-ARMING AMERICA agenda.  I can’t help but wonder how they would feel if the people they have guarding them were to suddenly lose the guns.  Then the agents would not be there.  I can’t afford to hire people to be my personal guards.  That would put them on equal ground with me. Walking around in a city or country side with no means to protect me from harm.  Many times I read of people in perfectly NICE neighborhoods being injured or killed.  Not just guns,…. But Knives, Arrows, Strangulation, Arson. Beaten to death, just to name a few.  Many times  when I go to major sporting events, or Conventions,  I must make my way on dark streets, or by alleyways, or even recessed doorways.  AND don’t give me that old “police presence” will protect me.  I could be attacked and my assailant far away before the nearest police officer could come to my aid.  BUT,  if I get to my destination I most likely not be allowed to have any means of protection on me.  Thus I am open to attack.   Excuse me for straying a little, however I believe it is important in relating my feeling on these MASS KILLINGS. 1. Have these anti gun people realized. MOST ALL, of these mass killings have been in “gun free” zones.  Schools, Churches, even Government buildings, or annexes. Cowards will take a path of least resistance.  FIFTY people killed.  I just can’t help but wonder why so many killed and injured before police arrived.  After all according to the anti gun people this is why we have them to protect and  prevent something like this from happening.  Always in the right place at the right time.  (Apparently even after they arrived).  Perhaps if one or two of the patrons, or employees had a a legally permited GUN; MAYBE, JUST, one of them could have stopped the perpetrator, before all of the death and injury.  HOW, many people might still be alive?  Uninjured?  If only HALF of them, heck even one would have been saved.  Isn’t that worth something?     Apparently not according to those who want to be like Hitler, and those others whose first steps were to disarm the citizenry).  GEE! Just think if the British had of thought of this we COULD all still be British subjects,  OR overrun by some other country. 2. While, as a CHRISTIAN,  I can’t condone homosexuality.  But neither do I wish to give up my rights to them either.  I, in fact, still can’t stop wondering if a boy in a neighboring school, of mine, who everyone knew was a homosexual, but no one I know of treated him any differently,  BUT the fact that when he “hit the beach” of Viet Nam, It was reported he was the first one killed.  Enemy coincidence, or was he killed by “friendly fire”  I have always wondered about that.   I am affronted by their constant public displays (as a group), (“LGBT”).  It would appear to me,  this group of people were not hurting anyone, they were not  blatantly displaying  their sexuality in anyone’s face,  The assassin may have been known to some of the club attendees,  as it was stated he was a “REGULAR” at the club. BUT it is not my place to judge them.  That is up to GOD.  I am not qualified to say what his Judgement will be.  I guess I am more offended by what appears to me a CALL to put my religious beliefs on the back burner  while demanding I accept their lifestyle.  I treat all people equally, unless they give me reason not to.  Being Homosexual is not one of them.  But I would surely like to be able to use the word “GAY”  properly, and not have it confused with homosexual .   As it is now used, apparently everyone in the 1890’s were homosexual.  “GAY NINETIES”   We even had a little eating place “very small, really good food.  The name was GAY DAN’S. ( meaning a fun place to eat, apparently owned by someone named DAN).  When homosexuals became associated with the word “GAY”  the small eating chain had to close it’s doors. 3. Need for more extensive background checks?  EXCUSE ME!  I believe the FBI investigated Omar Marteen at least 3 times, before he purchased his weapons.  Why this didn’t  trigger a flag on the background check is beyond me.  That seems pretty EXTENSIVE  to me.  In the state where I live we have the NICS background check, even when purchasing a squirrel rifle.  I also know IF there is a flag of something unverified, or whatevere reason, the inquiry comes back with a hold, ( I think of 5 or 7 days), so a more extensive background check can be made. 4. A woman I recall being interviewed  about gun laws,  stated, “All anyone has to do is go online and buy a gun and have it shipped to his door.”  Ignorance of the law is no excuse.  In my state, YES!  I… Continue reading ORLANDO PULSE CLUB SHOOTING, MY THOUGHTS.

Improper Police Chase Procedure

Just a couple of weeks ago I posted a story about the PROPER CHASE PROCEDURE.  In that post I told of how a police officer ceased his HOT PURSUIT, and called ahead to make the stop.  TODAY,  I am relaying a story just a couple of counties away from that pursuit.  Only this time the police did not radio ahead.  They continued the chase.  The outcome of that chase was not an ideal one.   The officers involved deemed it more important to make a traffic stop, than to consider the consequences.  Instead of asking for help from fellow officers, they pursued the purported offender, without regard for the safety of John Q. Public.  This resulted in the death of two innocent females, unaware of the fate the police were driving   their way.  The pursued vehicle, crashed into the ladies.  Both were KILLED. Yes killed may sound harsh but, that is what it is.  They died the same as if someone had shot them.  The SAME DEAD. Now you may say the driver of the pursued vehicle is guilty of Vehicular Homicide, (or whatever the proper legal term is), as  a fact.  Had he or she, not chose to run, the ladies would still be alive.  BUT, we know that in this case there was an ABETTOR.   THE POLICE.   Had they not chosen to pursue, the ladies would have been alive.  Most likely the pursued would have slowed and not crashed into them.  They could have been stopped by use of the technology available now.  Chances are once they were away from the first attempted stop.thinking they had not broken any laws in that area, could have been stopped by any means, be it a controlled traffic jam, or a seatbelt checkpoint, which we have in this state.   By continuing the chase, these officers are just as guilty, (in my mind), as the actual driver who collided with the ladies.  What will happen to them.  NOT A THING!  After all they ARE the POLICE, doing their job.  BUT WAIT,  isn’t it their JOB to SERVE AND PROTECT?  Does Serving and Protecting, include being a party to the death of innocent bystanders?  As I see it,  the police should face the same penalties.  Both parties had a hand in the deaths.  The Officer or Officers involved made an informed and conscious decision to put the public in danger by pursuing this vehicle.  There is a time when one must use some common sense. A question we all must ask ourselves.  ARE, police above the law.  It would seem that way in so many ways.  (Which I will not go into here).  Not all Cops are included.  But where I live We have had cops not so inclined to behave ethically.  The new Police Chief, claims to be trying to correct this.  I must admit I have seen some progress that way. GUN CONTROL: IS IT NEEDED? PART 1

I was raised on a farm and rural town.  So Hunting was a natural thing.  We planted our own garden, raised our own hogs, beef, sheep, chickens, etc.  We had apple trees, cherry trees, and pear trees.  We had Black Raspberry, Gooseberries, Black Berries, Blue Berries, Strawberry Bushes., and of course there was always a bountiful pick of mushrooms. A creek, (in our area it was pronounced CRICK), so plenty of fish to eat.  We hunted rabbit, and squirrel, to supplement and vary our meat diet.  We Churned our own butter, and canned what we could to get us through the winter.  So, you see hunting was a natural thing for us. All my life I have been pretty much anti HANDGUN.  I first fired a handgun at age 9.  My best friends cousin, who was about 10-12 years older than us,  took us out to an empty field and set up some tin cans, a let us shoot his Colt 45.  I think that is what it was,  to me it was just like the one the LONE RANGER used.  Granted it was a treat, pretending to be a real western cowboy.  But I could see no real reason to own one.  My other time was when I was about 19.  This time I was in the Military and had to qualify with the Military pistol, a gun I carried rarely.  Ok.  This I could see.  Being the radio operator, it was not always practical for me to carry a rifle.  But those times would be in battle or rioting conditions.  But for an average citizen,  I could still see no reason for anyone to have a handgun.  I had my Shotguns, and Rifles to defend my home with. But recently,  I was asked to check  a friend’s property,  they noticed someone had damaged the gate to their property, when they arrived home, and was going to wait on the road at the end of their drive.  They had called for the  police.  They said it was pretty obvious the police did not want to respond.  So off I went.  It took me  half and hour to get there.  (No Police).  I bravely entered the property, armed with my PELLET PISTOL,  to check things out.  I found no one.  My friends found what looked like a failed attempt to break in a door.  I waited with them another half hour, and still NO POLICE.  We called the police back, to let them know they could cancel the call.   We were told that they had not yet dispatched anyone to the scene. A couple of weeks later I made a trip to a neighboring state.  The friend I was visiting there had a neighbor who was a retired Sheriff.  They were talking about a handgun my friend was considering buying.  It was type the Sheriff used as a back up weapon.  I was asked my thoughts on it.  I told them I didn’t see any reason for owning one.  I explained that I did have a Pellet Pistol,  and how I had taken it to my friends on the aforementioned instance.  The retired Sheriff laughed, then scolded me.  He told me taking my Pellet Gun was worse than taking no gun.  The trespassers could have seen it and used a “real gun”  and shot me on the spot.  He also recommended I get a handgun.  I explained I had my Shotgun and Rifle.  He asked why did I not take one of them instead of the Pellet gun?  I explained they seemed a little cumbersome, and if someone was hidden and I was in close proximity I might not be able to use the long guns.   The Sheriff said, “One of the reasons you should consider getting a handgun”.   He also added long guns are not real good if I was attacked by a carjacker, if I were met with a mugger, and he continued on and on with reasons I should consider a handgun. As of now I have not made a decision.  I will think it over this week. Check back next week for further details. Unmarked Police Cars

Just a short post I just watched a video on YAHOO.com.  I found extremely informative, and thought provoking. The video was of a man pulling over a Washington state police officer.  Citing a State law which prohibits the use of UNMARKED POLICE VEHICLES  being used as patrol cars.  Stating that unmarked cars are usable in undercover investigations. The point that was brought up is…A citizen cannot know if he is being pulled over by an authorized police officer, or a stalker, or a serial killer. (to go from one comparison point to another). In the state i live in we have had numerous incidences, ( specially unescorted women),  being pulled over by a predator, or cop want to be,  by cars MARKED as police cars.  Now you throw in the UNMARKED car issue. So how do you know if you should pull over.  Just because a car has the lights, which can be bought by it seems anyone.  You have seen them in movies, car shows, etc.,  doesn’t mean there is a rel reason,  or a real cop behind the wheel.  Yet if you don’t stop then you are accused of resisting a police officer.    Pull over in a well lit public spot?  I have been on roads where I might travel 30-40 miles before I find a spot like this.  You know by this time if the cop is real he is going to have an army of fellow officers after me.  I will be charged with fleeing law enforcement. We know we do have officers,  though few in the overall number of police officers,  who would fall in this category of predatory behavior.  I do recall the times when a Town Clown,  (town cop), would camp outside someones home and wait for them to leave so they could stop them for loud muffler violations.  I know of a man who did drink too much,  BUT city cops would wait about a block from the bar he visited and wait for him to leave.   I knew they were waiting and told him to stay his regular time, but only drink Coke.  He did.  They pulled him over almost as soon as he pulled out of his parking spot.  Ha! Ha! Joke was on them.   Another time a friend of mine was 5 minutes from his house when pulled over.  They gave him a breath test, and he passed it.  They held him there for 20 minutes, by then the alcohol had apparently entered his blood stream and he failed.  Off to jail. in our state we had a ,I think state police officer, who  was convicted of murder 2 times. (Same Murder).  Yet he was granted a 3rd trial,  with the stipulation that the convicting evidence in the first 2 rials could not be used. Like I said these are hopefully few and far between. In closing I would like to go record as being a proponent for discontinuing use of unmarked patrol cars for police use.  This I do in the name of Citizen Safety. That Is How I See It. Below is a link to the video.   Whether it will still be up when you check it… I don’t know.  I know they usually only have these things up for a short period of time. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/trending-now/citizen-pulls-over-police-officer-193834583.html Views: 112

Cop Paid For Viewing Child Porn

Illinois State cop, (now RETIRED),  was arrested and convicted of “viewing child porn; while on duty, and using his state issued laptop computer. I know some government employees get in trouble, maybe even fired for viewing personal emails, on the job.  Even in  the business world,  people are fired for using company computers for personal business on company time.  They call this THEFT of time. Anyway what we have here is a blatant misuse of taxpayer time and money. WHY did he turn to child pornography while on duty?  Because, he said “I was bored.”  So he paid $99 a month for a subscription to the porn site.  Used STATE owned property while in a STATE owned vehicle, while receiving a STATE wage; to get his jollies looking at innocent little children doing whatever.  Of course he was found guilty. This man who we look to as an example, received the following sentence.  Sixty (60) days in jail.  Thirty (30) months probation.  A fine of $2000.oo,  and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. THIS is CHILD PORNOGRAPHY  folks!!!!.  not just your usual smut. Do we have a double standard here?  I read of one man charged with distributing Child Pornography, received a 40 year sentence.  I agree they are not exactly the  same, and the distributor should probably receive more time.  But is there that much difference? I think he gets to keep his retirement benefits.  From what I could gather there was no mention of this. Oh, yes.  He is said to be set free in 4 weeks.  Time served, and good time, being subtracted from the 60 days. Just another example of how our police state works.  Police are not held to the same standards as you or I.  However let us not forget.  Police are supposed to be respected, and set the example. I’ll bet the good people of Illinois are not so happy to see their tax dollars at work this way. Do you think a non-government official would receive this light a sentence.  NO!  I don’t. Greedy Government

A midwestern city seems a to be a little greedy.  The government is trying to keep in excess of $190,000.00 it seized after a traffic stop.  As I understand it the money belonged to a couple of brothers who remodel homes. It is hard to believe that anyone would drive around with that much money.  But the way I understand it the money was the family’s life saving and they were taking it to their father so he could pay off his mortgage and retire to Mexico.  The police officer who pulled them over confiscated the CASH.  The city will try to keep the cash under what is called “Civil Forfeiture”.  This is a procedure which lets police  forces to take property where the legal standard is lower than criminal forfeiture. Now here is the kicker.  There was no traffic arrest made.  No charges of any crime.   Neither brother has a criminal record.  A month later the brothers attorney filed a complaint that the city had no claim to the money.  Eleven days later the city attorney appeared in front of the  County Circuit Court Judge.  The Judge asked what were the basis for the seizure.  The City Attorney said,  “We don’t know.”   The Judge said, “This is America.  Give it back.”  He also ordered the city to return the money with one month’s interest and costs. So what did the city do?  Refused to abide by the court order and return the money.  They say they are going to appeal the judges order.  Claiming he overstepped his authority.  The appellate Court rejected the appeal on  “Technical Grounds. ”  Whatever that means. It seems that now the Department of Homeland Security/Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, has taken the money and claims the cash is subject to forfeiture under U.S. Codes dealing with drug transactions.   Again I remind you NO arrests,  No charges filed. Is this just a case of government greed?  Or what.  I think no arrest, no charge, they get their money back. That Is How I See It. Views: 105
