Obama’s Administration Other Face

As most of you know,  for years the war of State Vs Religion has been waged.  With the leadership, or backing, however you see it; of the aclu, (Anti Christian Lawyers Union),  God is slowly being removed from the USA.  The USA was founded on a basis of  “FREEDOM OF RELIGION”  as I have stated in other posts.  (See “Hope You Had A Happy 4th).  Our current president (I use the lower case here, as I find it very hard to respect the man elected to lead us). Mr. Obama claims to be a Christian, but actions speak louder than words.  (You have all heard that before). What brought about this posting?  I was just made aware that, this administration which has had it’s share, or more, of anti Christian moves; HOWEVER, has given $770,000,000.oo to reconstruct Moslem Mosques, in the Middle East. Am I the only one who has a problem with this? This administration with a leader with Muslim ties,  an administration who continues to back the loss of our freedoms, an administration that misinterprets, our Constitution,  and insists on NO support of any kind of religion,  will give this huge amount to support the Muslim religion in foreign countries. We are also supporting them by building their INTERNET system.  This is fine with me.  I just wonder what the rogue muslims, (note no capital here either, as I do not believe them to be devout muslims), will do with internet access. As an American, I have no problem with Muslims in general, just as I have no problem with the Jews.  We all believe in the same GOD,  we just have different views of our Messiah, (if you will). Do you see a the other face of our administration?  No religion, in USA,  Support religion in other countries. They justify this action as “….building foreign relations…” That Is How I See It   find find find Views: 614

Cop Paid For Viewing Child Porn

Illinois State cop, (now RETIRED),  was arrested and convicted of “viewing child porn; while on duty, and using his state issued laptop computer. I know some government employees get in trouble, maybe even fired for viewing personal emails, on the job.  Even in  the business world,  people are fired for using company computers for personal business on company time.  They call this THEFT of time. Anyway what we have here is a blatant misuse of taxpayer time and money. WHY did he turn to child pornography while on duty?  Because, he said “I was bored.”  So he paid $99 a month for a subscription to the porn site.  Used STATE owned property while in a STATE owned vehicle, while receiving a STATE wage; to get his jollies looking at innocent little children doing whatever.  Of course he was found guilty. This man who we look to as an example, received the following sentence.  Sixty (60) days in jail.  Thirty (30) months probation.  A fine of $2000.oo,  and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. THIS is CHILD PORNOGRAPHY  folks!!!!.  not just your usual smut. Do we have a double standard here?  I read of one man charged with distributing Child Pornography, received a 40 year sentence.  I agree they are not exactly the  same, and the distributor should probably receive more time.  But is there that much difference? I think he gets to keep his retirement benefits.  From what I could gather there was no mention of this. Oh, yes.  He is said to be set free in 4 weeks.  Time served, and good time, being subtracted from the 60 days. Just another example of how our police state works.  Police are not held to the same standards as you or I.  However let us not forget.  Police are supposed to be respected, and set the example. I’ll bet the good people of Illinois are not so happy to see their tax dollars at work this way. Do you think a non-government official would receive this light a sentence.  NO!  I don’t. Bad Umpires? Replace Them!

Recently there has been a lot of criticism of professional baseball umpires.  WHAT is new?  Every call is a judgment call.  Ever since I can remember baseball umpires have always made bad calls.  It is like the weatherman.  Most of the time he is wrong.  Occasionally he gets a call right.  Like when it is pouring down rain and our local weatherman predicts 51% chance of rain.  After all they can’t be completely wrong There is always that percentage.  Umpires have a 50% chance on every call they make.  It will either be WRONG, (which will be remembered), or right which will not be remembered.  And let’s not forget whatever the call it will be wrong from one perspective, and right, (regardless of how wrong it is), to another’s point of view. We now have the technology to eliminate those blind men behind the plate, at the bases, etc.  COMPUTERS.  With Cameras, as small as they are, and as portable, WE can have the computers make the calls, a lot quicker, and more accurately than mere men.  I guess then everyone will be yelling, “Kill the computer”,  or “Computer are your cameras blind?” Of course we could return to the olden days of baseball.  You know the days in early baseball, where the Umpire brought his char on the field sat off to the side, and called the game.  The good thing about this was the crowd could over rule a call the Umpire made. Or we could just make sure the umpires we have are thoroughly trained, and tested.  Give them a 3 strike rule.  Three wrong calls and you are fired. I really like the choice of one umpire with the crowd able to over rule his call.  But I guess that is impractical.  Thus the only choice we have is COMPUTER UMPIRES. Mac Vs PC

Have you ever noticed in movies, and TV shows you usually see the actors using Apple Computers?  I know there are two factions here PC Users, and Mac Users.  I have never had a Mac, and never saw a need for one.  My PC does everything I need to do, and at a lower cost. So, I have no experience with Macs. What I do have is the fact I don’t even know anyone who owns a Mac.  I haven’t even seen any in our area for sale.  Not even in the big box stores.  Maybe it is just a regional thing.  Perhaps there are pockets where this trend is reversed. So, why does it seem in the make believe world of TV and Movies, everyone owns a Mac?  Product Placement.  Companies pay to have their products displayed in this make believe world.  I have no numbers of units sold or used, for either product.  (Sold does not always equal Used).  Thus X units sold is a moot point. Nothing against you Mac users.  Computer choice is a Personal Choice. That Is How I See It, Views: 119

Price Checking

During this month of holiday spending I am compelled to pass on some tricks (?) I have found while shopping.  Sometimes it is a little amount of money saved sometimes a substantial amount. I will go back several years for my first example.  When computer scanners first came out  I HAD to have one.  I went to a now defunct electronics store, which was a leader in it’s time.  The particular scanner I was interested in had a price tag of $269.99. Being close to Black Friday, the clerk told me that he had knowledge this scanner was to be specially priced for the event.  It would be an all day event and they had plenty in stock.  I waited for the sale, hoping to save a substantial amount of money.  Well, was I surprised to find the special price was now $349.99.  That was an $80.00 increase in price.  I talked to the same clerk.  He said he was surprised at the rise in cost, but they sold more that day than they had in a month.   People who had not pre-shopped thought it was a steal.  So it doesn’t hurt to pre-shop items you may be interested in. More recently I was grocery shopping,   We all know to buy the large economy size right?   Imagine my surprise when I discovered that by buying the two smaller size bottle; of  pancake syrup I was actually paying less for 4 more ounces.  I suppose that in this case economy. meant more money for the store. This Monday I needed ink for my printer,  usually I buy the combo pack of 1 black and 1 color cartridge.  The price was $27.97, not a bad price for 2 cartridges, am I correct.  However when I priced them individually.  The Black Cartridge was $9.97 each.  The Color Cartridge price was $17.97  Add  $9.97 to  $17.97 the cost is $27.94.  Granted I only saved 3 cents by buying them separately over the combo pack.  But I usually buy 2 combo packs a month.  I Use a lot of ink.  That means I save 6 cents a month. Which means 72 cents a year.  Yeah I know that doesn’t sound like much, does it.  But look at the bottom line for the store.   The store in question is one of almost 8,700.  I don’t know how many of these combo packs each store sell weekly.  Let’s assume (Yes I Know what assume is said to mean),   HaHa. But for this example lets make this assumption. At 3 cents each package, time 10 a week that is only 30 cents extra profit.  But take that 30 cents times 8,700.  That totals to $2610.00 a week.   Now take that $2610.00 time 52 weeks and that 3 cent difference comes up to  $135,720.00. Not bad extra profit  over the profit made on individual packages.  Sort of a BONUS profit So in conclusion COMPARE Prices. That Is How I See It. PS. When shopping online beware of the Shipping and handling costs.  One ebay for example I add the shipping charge to what the price is and quite often I can buy the item in a local store for less money.  Some places charge more shipping and handling than the actual item would cost in the store.  As always  Buyer Beware.
