NFL Confidence Picks Week 14 12/05 To 12/09/2013
Last week was a so-so week for me. I’d bet many of you beat me. Before I get to my picks I would like to point out an article I read in USA Today. Talking about what a surprise Seattle QB Russell Wilson is. If I may direct you to my post of January, 13,2012. https://fromthemiddle.blog/2012/01/13/ In this post you will notice I had Wilson as a top 3 QB, and the type of team all 3 would be ideal for. Unfortunately for one of the three was thrown into the fire pre-maturely. Read the post and see who. In a follow up article I stated that if the COLTS chose Andrew they would have to release most of the starters and build around him. (I Believe they did this) Here are my picks. I must say the San Francisco-Seattle match up is a poser for me. My Mind says one thing and the math says another. So I will remain true to my method and go with the numbers (reluctantly). The Atlanta -Green Bay game, mathematically speaking came up a draw. So in case of a draw i go with the home team; that 12th man thing, and the fact that home teams seem to get a break on the calls. IT APPEARS WE HAD A RECORD BREAKING SUNDAY. 90 TOUCHDOWNS (OR SO I AM TOLD) ; AND A RECORD SETTING 64 YARD FIELD GOAL. BY DENVER BRONCHOS MATT PRATER. WOW! Not a bad week 100 points of 120. Houston let me down or Oakland had a really good game. Wasn’t broadcast in my area. But on the upside I was only off 2 points . I really would like to know what was going on in the mind (assuming he was using it), Indianapolis Colt’s linebacker, Erik Walden, Using his HELMET to head butt another player without his helmet. Perhaps, he was thinking, I really would like to have next week off. Expensive, week off, but it worked. What I think they forgot was to have all the Titans give him a helmeted head butt to his unhelmeted head. After all let the punishment fit the crime. Enough basking in last weeks glory. NFL Confidence Picks Week 11 11/14–18/2013
A really tough week. Nothing to be proud of here, except the effort. Both, by the teams which pulled off MAJOR and MINOR upsets; and by myself, for enduring the pain of my worst week ever. This week we saw two team, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers; win there first games of the year. Sure they were bound to win at least one game this year. BUT, with both winning the same week……well that just puts a really big hole in one’s confidence score. As for the COLTS loss; that was a possibility I had considered, without Reggie Wayne, there is a gaping hole in the offense. I felt the Colts team would be able to plug that hole this week. I think they have the crew to do that; it will only take more than one game. Maybe this week or next they will have plugged the hole sufficiently to be a contender again. BUT, (there is always that but), if you happened to overlook the RAMS’ defense the last two or three weeks, THEY just keep getting better and better. What an ugly game Monday night. Too many flags; but isn’t that true in more and more games this year. Probably the best play this week was Pryor;s 93 yard touchdown scamper. (Longest by a QB.) On the other hand the UGLIEST play was Seattle’s TATE, taunting TD. His actions show how immature some of the PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES are. Maybe why a goodly amount of these instant millionaires are broke a few years down the line. With this kind of maturity, one wonders what occupation they would be in, if he had not been fortunate enough to make the big leagues. I am pretty proud of my picks.
