On the flip side we have four teams tied with ZERO wins, and it just happens the four teams face off against each other, (sort of), VIKINGS 0-3 will invade the home of the 0-3 PANTHERS. The 0-3 BRONCOS travel to Chicago to face the 0-3 BEARS. We definitely will only have two winless teams after this week end. The reason for this I live in a state that is located in the CENTRAL Time Zone. But a several years ago we had a DiCTATOR for Govenor. Who came from. Most of his life being spent in Washington DC. We were already using Eastern Standard Time all year round Which put us ahead of the sun by 1 hour. We made the most if it. THEN he decided he wanted us to go 2h hours ahead of the sun. For those of you who don’t already know, DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME is an antiquated system. Although his change did not pass in legislature. He put a pause on the voting before it was final. He and his thugs pretty much of the opposition to change their votes. (Even the ones who won their seat by telling the voters they would never vote for EDT. Which in reality is ATLANTIC TIME). We only have one state that has a very, very small part in the Atlantic time Zone This means when the sun says 7:30 pm we are observing 9:30 pm. I have a 9am appointment which is a 1 hour drive away. This means I have to be up and about by no later than 7am am. With the game ending around midnight here, finishing my blog puts it 1 am before I get to bed. Then another hour to settle down to sleep. So yeah I may get 4-5 hours sleep. But it is usually 4 hours at most. WHY this late start. To coddle those in California. Let California move 2 hours ahead of the sun. Let all states in the good old USA move their clocks 2 hours ahead of the sun. Health organizations have pointed out many many health hazards to the change of 1 hour. Think what it is if you are 2 hours ahead. So enjoy your game California. We all know how screwed up your legislature is. ( Maybe they will let you move 3 hours ahead of the sun. Against Michigan St. 03/28/2023 15 seed Princeton UPSETS number 2 seed Arizona 59-55. 15 seeded Furman Paladins make most of 1st appearance since 1980. UPSETS number 4 seed Virginia. With help by a Virginia player, trapped in a corner with 5 seconds to go; tried to throw the ball high into the other half court. Furman player intercepted the throw fed another who sank a 3 pointer winning by one. I have no idea why the throw was made. Up by 2 and 5 seconds, trapped a foul was likely to happen. Which would give Virginia a chance to make it a 3 point lead with a single free throw. Or a game icing 4 point lead with the second free throw. Sorry I don’t remember the players names. SUPER BOWL SUNDAY LVII (SUNDAY 02/12/2023
Well it is finallly here. The much anticipated Sunday in NFL. I don’t really have much to say. I hope it is a good game. The only real thing that might attract me to the game is the brother Kelce face off. Honestly I never watch the HALFTIME SHOW. It used to be an attraction. Now for me it is just a side show to take up time between halves. NOW: My pick to win is the EAGLES OF PHILADELPHIA. Not only because I think they are the better team. But because I don’t like the way KC’s QB. comes across to me. He may be a really great person. I never met him. But he just seems like a smart-aleck, (to me), and it may just that reason which makes it appear he has stripe shirted body guards on the field too. Nothing against the rest of the team. I wish them luck. I wish both team good luck. Now don’t get me wrong. I have known really good athletes who came across the same way, only to learn they were actually insecure in their abilities and put on this type of front to bolster their own egos, to keep them at the top of their game. I haven’t decided yet if I tune in. May check during commercials of whatever I am watching to see the score. May watch just for the Kelce show. At the time I am writing I just can’t see spending 3 1/2-4 hours watching about 11 minutes of action. My central hope is that no one gets seriously hurt NFL has, (always, it seems) favored the the team that is in the largest market. My prediction for total score is 50 points. So now you know how I feel about super bowl lvii, (intentionally put in lowercase letters). Well it is in the record books. Chiefs 38 Eagles 35. I did watch the last 2 minutes. So I can’t say anything about the rest of the game. HOWEVER. The Chiefs appeared saved by a very, very suspicious “IN THE VICINITY HOLDING” call. I looked several times. I never saw any Holding, ( the one that gsve them that final 1st down). What i did see was a hand in the general area. No proof of even touching the runner. But that is how the NFL is now. Terrible officiating over the years and getting worse. They just have too much to look for. The NFL keeps changing the rules, adding rules, etc. I won’t say that one call cost the Eagles the Championship. I’m sure there were other things during the game that affected the games outcome. Other bad calls, no calls. Team route errors, misjudging the ball. Normal errors. Many things. So congratulations Chiefs. Condolences to Eagles. But now one brother has bragging rights over the other. This is how confidence ranking goes, let me explain. If we were playing an office pool,(which we ARE NOT). The object is to score the most points. To obtain the score YOU rank the teams by how confident you are a team will win its game. EXAMPLE: Say this week we have 16 games. The team you are most confident will win you would assign the number 16 and follow down to the team you are least confident in and assign that number 1. You add up the TOTAL CORRECT PICKS.. That would be your score. We use the Monday night (Last game played) as a TIE BREAKER. The tie is broken by the closest to the total (that is the COMBINED score of the two participating teams) final score, without going over. YOU can adopt the scoring described above. Or, the optional method. A negative score for missed games. We will continue to get a positive score for correct predictions. EXAMPLE: if you scored 1 pt on the first game and you had 15 pts on the second game and lost you would still have 1 pt. 1. BILLS/BENGALS: Monday game cancelled becoming a No Contest. it was determined by the NFL that the outcome of that game would have NO impact on playoff qualification for either team as both teams have clinched a playoff berth. Other than the fact that a win would have set up the Bills an opportunity to vie for the number 1 seed now held by the Chiefs. The commissioner has drawn up a number of possible scenarios for the owners to vote on that could even out the results that could come about by the cancellation.
