How the Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for Super Bowl LVIII

[wpcdt-countdown id=”15138″]  [adrotate group=”1″] The Kansas City CHIEFS are back in the Super Bowl for the third time in four years, and they are ready to take on the San Francisco 49ERS in a rematch of Super Bowl LIV.  The CHIEFS are coming off a thrilling comeback win over the Baltimore Baltimore RAVENS in the AFC Championship Game, while the 49ERS cruised past the Green Bay PACKERS in the NFC title game.  Both teams have high-powered offenses, stingy defenses, and charismatic coaches, making this a must-watch matchup for any football fan. But how are the CHIEFS preparing for the biggest game of the year? Here are some of the key factors that will shape their game plan and performance in SUPER BOWL LVIII. Staying healthy and focused One of the biggest challenges for any team heading into the Super Bowl is staying healthy and focused amid the hype and distractions of the week. The CHIEFS have been dealing with some injuries to key players, such as RB: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and LB: Willie Gay Jr., who  missed some practice time during the bye week.  However, HC: Andy Reid said he expects all of them to be ready for the game2. The CHIEFS are also trying to avoid any COVID-19 issues, as the pandemic is still a major concern for the NFL and the world.  The team has been following strict protocols and testing procedures, and has not reported any positive cases among players or staff in the past two weeks.  The CHIEFS are also limiting their travel and media obligations, as they will fly to Las Vegas on Saturday, the day before the game, and conduct most of their interviews virtually. Studying the 49ers and learning from the past The CHIEFS have a lot of respect for the 49ers, who are one of the most balanced and talented teams in the league.   The 49ers have a dynamic offense led by QB: Brock Purdy,, RB: Christian McCaffrey, and TE: George Kittle, who can attack the CHIEFS defense in multiple ways.  The 49ers also have a ferocious defense anchored by DE:  Nick Bosa, LB:  Fred Warner, and CB: Richard Sherman, who can pressure and disrupt the CHIEFS offense.    The CHIEFS are well aware of the 49ers’ strengths and weaknesses, as they faced them in Super Bowl LIV, where the CHIEFS rallied from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to win 31-20..  The CHIEFS are studying the film from that game, as well as the 49ers’ recent games, to find any tendencies, patterns, or opportunities that they can exploit.  The CHIEFS are also learning from their own mistakes and successes, as they have improved in several areas since last year, such as run defense, red zone offense, and special teams. Trusting Patrick Mahomes and the offense The CHIEFS have one of the most explosive and versatile offenses in NFL history, and it all starts with their superstar QB:, Patrick Mahomes. the reigning Super Bowl MVP and the frontrunner for this year’s award, as he has thrown for 4,740 yards, 38 touchdowns, and six interceptions in the regular season, and added 580 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in the postseason.  Mahomes has a plethora of weapons at his disposal, such as  Kittle, ,WR:  Mecole Hardman,   and  TE: Travis Kelce, who all can make big plays and stretch the field. The CHIEFS are confident in their offense, and they are not afraid to be aggressive and creative with their play-calling. Reid and OC:  Eric Bieniemy have shown a knack for designing and executing innovative plays, such as the jet chip wasp, the underhand shovel pass, and the speed option, that catch the defense off guard and result in touchdowns.  The CHIEFS are also not afraid to overcome adversity, as they have proven time and again that they can come back from any deficit and score in bunches. Relying on the defense and the leaders The CHIEFS defense may not get as much attention as their offense, but it is equally important and impressive. The CHIEFS defense ranked 10th in the league in points allowed per game (22.6), 14th in yards allowed per game (358.3), and sixth in turnovers forced (22) in the regular season.  The CHIEFS defense also stepped up in the playoffs, holding the Cleveland Browns to 17 points and the Ravens to 24 points, and making crucial stops and turnovers in both games. The CHIEFS’ defense is led by defensive coordinator DC: Steve Spagnuolo, who has a reputation for devising effective game plans and schemes against elite offenses, such as the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII and the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.  The CHIEFS defense also has several leaders and playmakers, such as DT: Chris Jones, DE:  Frank Clark, can make an impact on any given play.               Conclusion The CHIEFS are ready for Super Bowl LVIII, and they are determined to repeat as champions and cement their legacy as one of the best teams ever.  The CHIEFS have the talent, the coaching, the experience, and the motivation to win the game, and they are not taking anything for granted. The CHIEFS know that the 49ers are a formidable opponent, and they are preparing accordingly. The CHIEFS are confident, but not cocky, and they are focused, but not nervous. The CHIEFS are ready to play their best game of the year, and they are ready to make history. Views: 156

SUPER BOWL LVIII (58) A REMATCH FOR THE AGES

[adrotate group=”1″]   [wpcdt-countdown id=”15138″] Super Bowl LVIII (58) will be played on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two teams that will compete for the title are the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, who met in Super Bowl LIV in 2020, with the Chiefs winning 31-20. The halftime show will feature Usher, a Grammy-winning R&B singer and dancer2. You can watch the game on CBS or Nickelodeon, or stream it on Paramount+1.      The biggest game of the year is almost here. On Sunday, February 11, 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will face off in Super Bowl 58 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the second time these two teams will meet in the Super Bowl, after the Chiefs defeated the 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV in 2020. Will the Chiefs repeat their victory, or will the 49ers get their revenge? Here are some key factors to consider before the game. THE QUARTER BACKS      Super Bowl 58 will feature a showdown between two of the best quarterbacks in the league: Patrick Mahomes of the CHIEFS and Brock Purdy of the 49’ERS.  Mahomes, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, has been sensational this season, leading the league in passing yards (5,472), touchdowns (48), and passer rating (117.9). He has also shown his ability to make clutch plays with his arm and his legs, especially in the playoffs, where he led the Chiefs to comeback wins over the TEXANS and the RAVENS. Mahomes is looking to become the first quarterback to win back-to-back Super Bowls since Tom Brady in 2004 and 2005.      Purdy, on the other hand, is a newcomer to the Super Bowl stage, but he has proven himself to be a worthy contender.  The second-year pro, who was drafted by the 49’ERS in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, has had a breakout season, throwing for 4,316 yards, 35 touchdowns, and only nine interceptions. He has also displayed his mobility and toughness, rushing for 421 yards and seven touchdowns, and overcoming a shoulder injury that sidelined him for two games in the regular season.  Purdy has been impressive in the postseason, leading the 49ers to dominant wins over the Lions and the Rams, and outplaying veteran quarterbacks Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers.    Both Mahomes and Purdy have plenty of weapons at their disposal, such as  CHIEFS Receiver Rashee Rice.  TE: Travis Kelce. RB: Isiah Pacheco 49’ers  have WR Deebo Samuel, TE George Kittle. and RB Christian McCaffrey.  The Super Bowl 58 could very well come down to which quarterback can make the most plays and avoid the most mistakes. THE DEFENSE    While the Super Bowl 58 is expected to be a high-scoring affair, the defenses of both teams should not be overlooked. The CHIEFS and the 49’ERS have two of the most balanced and talented defenses in the league, ranking in the top 10 in both points allowed and yards allowed per game.  Both teams also have some of the best pass rushers and playmakers in the league,  The CHIEFS  have DT: Chris Jones, LB: Frank Clark.  For the 49’ERS ,  DL: Nick Bosa, and LB: Fred Warner.    The CHIEFS defense has improved significantly since last year, when they ranked 17th in points allowed and 20th in yards allowed per game. Under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, the CHIEFS have become more aggressive and opportunistic, forcing 28 turnovers (tied for third in the league) and scoring four defensive touchdowns (tied for second in the league).  The CHIEFS defense has also stepped up in the playoffs, holding the TEXANS and the RAVENS to 20 and 17 points, respectively, and generating six turnovers and seven sacks.    The 49’ERS defense has been dominant all season long, ranking second in points allowed (17.1 per game) and fourth in yards allowed (304.9 per game). The 49’ERS‘ defense is led by their fearsome front four, which features Bosa, Arik Armstead, DeForest Buckner, and Dee Ford. The 49’ERS defense has recorded 54 sacks (second in the league) and 27 turnovers (tied for fifth in the league). The 49’ERS defense has also been dominant in the playoffs, holding the LIONS and the RAMS to 13 and 10 points, respectively, and generating five turnovers and nine sacks.    Both defenses will have their hands full trying to stop the explosive offenses of their opponents. The key for both defenses will be to pressure the quarterbacks, disrupt the timing of the passing game, and force turnovers.  THE COACHES       Super Bowl 58 will also feature a rematch between two of the best coaches in the league: Andy Reid of the CHIEFS and Kyle Shanahan of the 49’ERS. Reid, who won his first Super Bowl last year, is one of the most respected and successful coaches in NFL history, with a career record of 238-140-1.  He is known for his offensive genius, his innovative play-calling, and his ability to develop quarterbacks.  Reid has also shown his adaptability and resilience, overcoming several challenges and controversies throughout his career.    Shanahan, who lost his first Super Bowl as a head coach last year, is one of the most promising and creative coaches in the league, with a career record of 36-28.  He is known for his offensive brilliance, his scheme versatility, and his knack for finding and maximizing talent. Shanahan has also shown his determination and leadership, turning the 49ers from a 4-12 team in 2018 to a 12-5 team in 2023.    Both Reid and Shanahan have assembled strong coaching staffs, with coordinators. CHIEFS STAFF:  HC :Andy Reid. 11 years as CHIEFS HC.   Asst. Coach/Special Teams: Dave Toub.   OC: Matt Nagy,   DC: Steve Spagunolo.    Pass Coordinator:  Joe Bleymaier.    Statistical Analysis Coordinator:  Mike Frazier.   QB Coach, David Girardi 49’ERS STAFF: HC: Kyle Shanahan.   QB: Coach is Brian Griese who left his job on MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL to become teams QB coach. NFL CONFIDENCE PICKS WEEK 18 01/06-07/ 2024

LET THE FIRINGS BEGIN   PANTHERS:  Fire GM Scott Fitterer. FALCONS: Fire HC Arthur Smith after 3rd straight 7-10 season. COMMANDERS:  Fire HC Ron Rivera after 4 years at the helm. RAMS:   Nacua,  the 5th round, 177 pick, successfully set a new RECORD receiving 41 yards for a rookie season high 1,485 yards.  Not content with 1 Rookie record, Nacua added another by adding 1 more catch than Jaylen Waddle former record holder with 104 catches,  hauling in his 105 th catch.  Just for good measure he also scored a TD before being pulled, to insure no injury before going into the playoff.  NOW;  will be able to carry this streak thru the postseason Will you watch  RAMS  as 1st year receiver  Puka Nacua tries to break the  the single season record for ROOKIE receiving record. Set by OILER, Bill Gorman in 1960, at 1,473 yards.   Nacua is sitting at 1,445 yards.  However, he will attempt this without starting QB Matthew Stafford.  Against the 49’ers.  He needs a mere 29 yards.  Which appears to me he will get enough passes to assure he breaks the record.  Be it 1 pass or 50 passes.  Nacua is also tied with Anguan Boldin with 101 catches. Dolphin  Jaylen Waddle has held the record with 104 catches set in 2021. BIG GAMES TO WATCH:  RAVENS could either be seeded number 2 in AFC East….OR be completely out of the playoff picture.  THESE are the scenarios which could make this happen.  1. Steelees beat Ravens.  (RAVENS, have Number 1 seed clinched, an will most likely sit the starters).    2. JAGUARS Beat Titans. 3. Texans/Colts game does not end in a TIE. If all these happen and the BILLS beat the Dolphin.  THEN the Bills will have the AFC East title and the number 2 seed.   Thus the RAVENS. are out of the playoffs Confusing and probability  unlikely all these things come to pass.   Which number 1 seed has the tougher path to the Super Bowl ?  49’ER’S or RAVENS ?  What do you think?   49’ers,  RB Christian McCaffrey out final game of season with a mild calf strain.  SO WHAT?  Don’t get me wrong i don’t like for anyone to be hurt.  But in the Big scheme of things.  With the 49’ers having already clinched the number 1 seed;  he would probably sit out anyway.     This week will be tough to pick.   WHY?  It is that time of the season.   Will the teams which have already clinched a playoff berth,  REALLY their  starters, and risk injury, OR will they pull a stunt like the 2009 COLTS.  Going into the last regular season game with a 14-0 record.  AN UNDEFEATED REGULR SEASON.  BUT benched their starters the last game to end the season 14-1.  Yes strange things happen this time of the year.  Who knows.    49’ERS CLINCH NFC NUMBER 1 SEED !   For those of you who are new here. This is how confidence ranking goes, let me explain. NFL CONFIDENCE PICKS WEEK 17 12/28-30-31-/ 2023

Sorry for tonight’s game being listed as MONDAY.  In the editing mode it has said SUNDAY all along.  but keeps putting MONDAY in the post.   RAVENS CLINCH AFC NUMBER1 SEED  It has been brought to my attention concerning NFL  Officials.  WHY does the NFL offer up PLAYERS, and COACHES, to attend “after game”  question and answer sessions.  BUT…..WHY NOT the OFFICIALS ?  Is it because “OFFICIALS calls should never be questioned”.  Do they not care how the official oversee the game?     Officiating is NOT easy.  Officials are human and subject to making bad calls, (in error).  Not only do they need to know EVERY rule.  BUT;  must watch for rule infractions every play.       Still I agree OFFICIALS, should make a podium appearance,  just like players and coaches. For those of you who are new here. This is how confidence ranking goes, let me explain. NFL CONFIDENCE PICKS WEEK 16 12/21-23-24-25/ 2023

For those of you who are new here. This is how confidence ranking goes, let me explain. If we were playing an office pool,(which we ARE NOT).  The object is to score the most points. To obtain the score YOU rank the teams by how confident you are a team will win its game.  EXAMPLE:  Say this week we have 16 games.  The team you are most confident will win you would assign the number 16 and follow down to the team you are least confident in and assign that number 1.   You add up the TOTAL CORRECT PICKS.. That would be your score.  We use the Monday night (Last game played) as a TIE BREAKER.  The tie is broken by the closest to the total (that is the COMBINED score of the two participating teams) final score, without going over. YOU can adopt the scoring  described above.  Or, the optional method.  A  negative score for missed games.  We will continue to get a positive score for correct predictions.  EXAMPLE:   if you scored     1 pt on the first game and you had 15 pts on the second game and lost you would still have  1 pt. 1.  HOWEVER. with the same scenario new scoring system would result with a –14 score If we were playing this is how my sheet would look;  My pick will be in bold Capital letters.  you can use circling, underlining, or highlighting.  I will show my correct points in Bold I will fill in my picks Thursday.  Until then feel free to: Just copy and paste for your own Fun Pool Use.  Or to see if you can beat me. NFL CONFIDENCE PICKS WEEK14 12/07-10-11-/ 2023

Just when you think it can’t be worse…. FIRST time I have ever ended a week with a negative number.  WHAT IS GOING ON?  NFL is just getting so equal; or is it the “OFFICIATING”,  that is causing all the misfit game outcomes.  I don’t know.  With all the betting sites we have now,  one would have to wonder how are they doing.  (I am sure they are finding a way to make money).  Oh, well we will just continue to plod along here.  IT IS JUST FOR FUN. Right? COLTS v BENGALS:  Believe it or not !  I really think the COLTS will win this game.  However my formula called this game a DRAW.  So what i usually do in this case is take the HOME team.
