I have been a fan of Mershawn Lynch, for sometime now. The Strength he showed, the determination to give his best ALWAYS. I supported him when he did not want to be interviewed. YAY! But he crossed that line when he decided to sit for OUR AMERICAN ANTHEM, THEN STOOD UP FOR THE MEXICAN ANTHEM. I have no problem with him standing for the Mexican Anthem, (HAD HE STOOD FOR HIS COUNTRY’S ANTHEM). I say he should be paid in Pesos. I don’t even care how many Pesos they pay him as long it is relevant with the same ratio of the working class Mexican as it is with the working class American. Average household income for the USA in 2016 was $59,039 a year. (Wish I could make that. But I am doing my part by keeping that average down). The Mexican Average Household income was $12,800. I will let you figure out the difference. BUT, I am guessing the MEXICAN average to be about 21.6% of that of the average AMERICAN. Rounding to 20% would make 1 million equal $200,000. (Sorry I am not good at converting Pesos to Dollars so I am stating in US dollars). So he now makes $1,350,ooo.00 a year. In Pesos/Dollars he would, (again I am guessing), rounding down to 20%, He would be earning, $200,070. a year, (add that other 1.6%. won’t make a whole lot of difference. NOTE: HOUSEHOLD REFERS NOT (necessarily), TO ONE WORKING PERSON BUT IN A HOUSEHOLD. It could be ONE if only one person has an income. But this is a primarily a two income society. That is MY opinion! For those of you who do not know how confidence ranking works, let me explain. If we were playing an office pool,(which we ARE NOT). The object is to score the most points. To obtain the score YOU rank the teams by how confident you are a team will win its game. EXAMPLE: Say this week we have 16 games. The team you are most confident will win you would assign the number 16 and follow down to the team you are least confident in and assign that number 1. We use the Monday night game(last game) as a TIE BREAKER. The tie is broken by the closest to the total (that is the COMBINED score of the two participating teams) final score, without going over. If we were playing this is how my sheet would look; My pick will be in bold Capital letters. you can use circling, underlining, or highlighting. I will show my correct points in Bold YOU can adopt the scoring described above. Or, the optional method. A negative score for missed games. We will continue to get a positive score for correct predictions. EXAMPLE: if you scored 1 pt on the first game and you had 15 pts on the second game and lost you would still have a Positive 1. HOWEVER. with the same scenario new scoring system would result with a -14 score. I will fill in my picks Thursday. Until then feel free to: Just copy and paste for your own Fun Pool Use. NFL Confidence Picks WEEK 11 11/16,19,20/ 2017
NOW: KEEP IN MIND LIKE ALL MY POSTINGS, THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. And unfortunately you all have a right to yours. lol NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, wants a massive raise, to $5o million a year. Yet with a policy/RULE, in place addressing the unpatriotic kneeling……He says, (paraphrased) “I don’t know how to handle the situation” How does that make him qualify for a raise, Reduction is more suitable Is he so STUPID, he does not know how to read. A real credit to his alma mater. I R a gradiate of Washintn & Jefersn Coleege. That is the image he puts forth for Washington & Jefferson College. Just enforce what is in place. How hard can that be. If you don’t like it CHANGE IT! I have just as rough a life as many (not all) of whom they are “PROTESTING FOR” . I agree that the poor are not given equal justice. But being unpatriotic is not the answer. I remember when I knew every Police officer in our county. They treated us with respect. We treated them with respect. NOW is a different day. I do not have the same respect for cops. I have seen them use and abuse their powers. I know of incidences where they planted evidence. I can not prove these incidents, I just know of them. Cops cover themselves pretty well. I know of incidents when they have threatened to take children away if a witness doesn’t say or do what they tell them. (I can not prove these incidents, I just know of them. Cops cover themselves pretty well). Make no mistake; NOT ALL are like this. I suspect, there are only a few bad apples, but those few make you distrust them in general. The same goes for the court system. We have a good old boy system. It seems from my observation, the outcome is decided before it goes in front of the judge. The average Joe, cannot afford a FORCE such as the Police Force. Even if we could afford a lawyer, He cannot bribe a witness by either letting him off or lessening his sentence, to say what we want him to say. We end up with underpaid, overworked, COURT appointed attorneys, or if you have a Public Defenders office. Check how their Manpower and Budgets compare with the prosecutors office. I could be wrong but they probably can not use the Police Dept., as the prosecutor can. If only the Police had to follow the same shooting rules as a licensed individual, I think we would see less Killings, of the lower class, race, religion, etc. But these athletes could be more productive by putting their money where their knee is. Now for College football. We need a real TOURNAMENT. Champion against Champion. But of course we know we can’t really do that. Football players have all that padding and rules protecting them they can’t play but ONE game a week. Every one knows they could play 2 games a week. Basketball players take a worse beating every week, and with out all the pads and protective rules. (For those of you who didn’t know BASKETBALL IS A NO CONTACT SPORT. I know from all the bloody noses, black eyes, scratches, floor burns, and all the rest of the injuries I suffered during my playing days. Basketball players will play through most all injuries. But not football players. Now I am not necessarily putting sown the players, as I am their schedules. I am positive THEY could play 2 games a week, (especially), with the number of players they carry on the roster. I remember a time when the University of Wisconsin beat more RANKED teams than the Florida teams even played. I can’t remember which Florida team went to play for National Championship. The point is DO NOT USE THAT OLD STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE ALIBI, TO KEEP WISCONSIN OUT OF THE PLAY OFFS. While I have your attention. let us think about the UCLA incident. This is a major school. Representing our United States in a foreign land. The students could very well have been in prison for up to what 5 years. But thanks in part to our President Trump. They are home. I think back to a time when I was in Retail management. Myself and an older management individual witnessed a local High School Basketball star, slip a piece of merchandise in his letterman jacket. My elder manager said let me handle this. We walked to where the boy was standing. The manager started talking about basketball. Then switched to the problem we were having with shoplifters. He told them about the effect of having to raise prices to cover the losses. He then went into how prosecution could ruin a young persons life. We then walked away. We watched as he took the item out and placed it in the bin. That was all it took. However: Due to the schools high profile, and the players high profile, and sheer stupidity of their act. I would say suspension from practice and games for the next 10-12 games (coincides with the possible 5 year sentence they could have received.(2 games for each year) ,and some community service, say speaking about shoplifting, should be sufficient. BUT we know UCLA will not do anything this strong. After all UCLA Basketball means M_O_N_E_Y! BOYCOTT NFL GAMES, MERCHANDISE, AND SPONSORS. If you are a PATRIOTIC CITIZEN. and don’t forget CQ magazine. An Unpatriotic act by any one should not qualify him for “CITIZEN OF THE YEAR”. I have been a better citizen than him. You don’t see my name on that list. For those of you who do not know how confidence ranking works, let me explain. If we were playing an office pool,(which we ARE NOT). NFL Confidence Picks WEEK 7 10/19,22,23/2017
After Aaron Rodgers injury, rumblings have it that NFL is planning to enact a new rule to protect the QB. Eventually it seems, if things keep going QB’s and Kickers, will be like kick returners when they signal fair catch. UNTOUCHABLE! Then we will see free throws, handoffs, heck you might as well say the QB can run the ball all the way down the field for TDs. What the NFL will not take into consideration is a defenders momentum is going to carry them on. I have seen many times when a defender is trying to avoid contact, but is called for some contact penalty. Personally I would prefer to watch AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL..Lots more action. Again the NFL is playing word games with the RULES. They say “SHOULD” denotes a ‘SUGGESTION’ NOT A RULE. Lets look at this again. The following is from the Game Operations Department The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area SHOULD stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem MAY result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses. I am no lawyer so I use only plain English and not legalese. SHOULD. If you are about to testify in court; you SHOULD tell the truth. If you don’t tell the truth, you are guilty of PERJURY. PERJURY carries various penalties. MAY. This is where the “DOUBLE TALK”, comes in. Although the whole RULE/POLICY states what is to take place INCLUDING THE PLAYING OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM. If a team decides to NOT play the National Anthem; NO BIG DEAL. The NFL has the option to ENFORCE or not ENFORCE. Of course THEY are’t going to fine, suspend, and/or forfeit draft choice(s) . That would go against the owners. I have not watched a game; As I said I would not watch. I haven’t bought any NFL products. WHY? The same reason I do not support Terrorists. That may sound like an extreme comparison. BUT neither the NFL, or Terrorists display patriotism to the USA. For those of you who do not know how confidence ranking works let me explain. If we were playing an office pool,(which we ARE NOT). The object is to score the most points. To obtain the score YOU rank the teams by how confident you are a team will win its game. NFL Confidence Picks WEEK 5 10/05,08,09/2017
Hurrah! For Vice President Pence. Of course I doubt if he had to pay for his tickets to the Colts game. BUT he did get up and leave after the 49’ers SHOWED their disrespect for the the country which allows them to earn WAY to much money for what they do. I would like to see every stadium empty, until the NFL starts enforcing the Standing for the anthem “POLICY” which make it a violation with designated punishments. They enforce them in regard to dress (Wrong Shoes, Wrong eye shadowing, etc. etc. They need to make it retroactive and receive punishment for each occurrence. It “AIN’T” going to happen though. There are just TOO MANY, apathetic people out there to miss a game or two. I believe these people are UNPATRIOTIC and if they were in the proverbial foxhole next to me. They would not do a thing to help me; but you can be sure they would be looking to me for help. Don’t even watch them on TV. I don’t. When the sponsors see the decline in exposure and drop in sales, THEY are the ones who can force them to enforce the RULES/POLICY. The government should remove their ANTITRUST PROTECTION. I sure don’t trust them. How many of your teams are supported by local government either building and maintaining the stadiums and other subsidies. Just to have the NFL laugh in their faces by allowing their players to snub of country. For those of you who do not know how confidence ranking goes, let me explain. NFL Confidence Picks WEEK 4 09/28 –10/01,02/2017
LET ME REFER YOU TO THIS LINK ON YAHOO> to see the NFL explanation. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/theres-no-nfl-rule-players-must-stand-anthem-theres-policy-162020168.html You will notice the same POLICY listed their . However NfL says “roughly” that their must may be a word missing in the language of the policy because they claim punishments “MAY” be assessed. They just do not wish to assess them. “THIER DISCRETION” So long {PICK AND CHOOSE WHICH RULES YOU ENFORCE} THIS SAME GAME OPERATION DEPARTMENT ADDRESSES THINGS LIKE PLAYERS UNIFORMS. WHICH WE ALL KNOW SOME PLAYERS HAVE BEEN PUNISHED FOR. NFL, YOU ARE A FICKLE ORGANIZATION. GOODBYE UNTIL YOU DECIDE TO ENFORCE ALL RULES. ON A PICK AND CHOOSE BASIS. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO USE ONE VOTE IT OUT. BUT AS LONG AS IT IS ON THE BOOKS USE IT! BECAUSE THE NFL REFUSES TO ENFORCE GAME OPERATION DEPARTMENT’S “policy”, AND ONLY ENFORCE THE RULES, AND POLICIES AT IT’S WILL. I WILL NO LONGER FOLLOW AND POST THE SCORES, ETC. I WILL POST THE PICK SHEETS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK IT IS OK FOR THE NFL TO OPERATE IN THIS MANNER. Call it policy, whatever they want. It does have VIOLATIONS AND PUNISHMENTS. To me that is also a rule. IF THEY DO DECIDE TO ENFORCE THEIR OWN POLICIES, I WILL BE BACK. Now, I am not smart like a lot of you. Or the COLLEGE EDUCATED athletes. So I really do not understand this “KNEELING PROTEST” thing. So I did some research. This is what a trip to the dictionary told me. 1. PROTEST: Noun. an expression or declaration of objection, disapproval, or dissent, often in opposition to some thing, a person is powerless to prevent or avoid. If you don’t like the National Anthem. You don’t have to listen to it. You can do what I would be in favor of Petition to have it changed to “AMERICA”, or some more relevant song. If you don’t like our flag. LEAVE!!! Oh yes that is right if you leave you would not make all that BIG M-O-N-E-Y. For playing a child”s game. If you don’t like the politicians VOTE! There is always something you can do to change it. 2. KNEELING: Kneeling, similar to bowing, is associated with reverence, submission and obeisance, particularly if one kneels before a person who is standing or sitting: the kneeling position renders a person defenseless and unable to flee. I see this as something a CHRISTIAN does before GOD. Granted not all athletes are practicing CHRISTians. (Although some seem to be thanking GOD when they make a good play). They may be Muslim, who bow to Allah. They be Atheists. Or Idol worshipers. Idol worshipers are those who worship inanimate things like MONEY, False Gods. ETC.ETC. Thus by kneeling during the National Anthem they are paying Tribute to our FLAG and National Anthem. So you see my quandary? HOW DO YOU PROTEST SOMETHING BY SHOWING REVERENCE TO IT BY KNEELING ??????? As for protesting the POLICE actions. The answer seems simple to me. HOLD THE POLICE TO THE SAME STANDARDS AS ANY CITIZEN. (I know this will never happen. But it should). I am not affiliated with ANY POLITICAL PARTY !! There is no room for politics in GOOD Government. As anyone reading or listening to the news media, it is plain to see they are still belly-aching over their candidates loss in the Presidential election. Just this morning I was reading how they slant things to their perspective. People read these things and think it is fact. NO ! It is just their opinion not NEWS FACT. Our President stated (I will not get the quote correct as the story has disappeared from all the news sources I read). But here is essentially what President Trump said. He disagrees with the “KNEELING PROTEST” (as it is targeted at OUR FLAG an National Anthem). Which I agree. BUT, there is always that BUT. He said progress was being made on this issue as some teams knelt but STOOD for the anthem. Showing that those players are not disrespecting the flag or anthem. WHICH is how it is seen by the majority of people. It seems the President needs someone to instruct him in the usage of words, so he is so clear about what he says it would make it more difficult for the media to twist (SPIN if you prefer), what he says. There is no rule in the rule book addressing the issue we are looking at. HOWEVER; “The league’s Game Operations Department uses the manual to govern the conduct of home clubs, to ensure they protect players and provide the conditions for a fair and fan-friendly contest,” reads the NFL’s website. “Clubs face warnings and other penalties for noncompliance.” The following is from the Game Operations Department The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. Commissioner: The ball is in your hands. ENFORCE IT. Or ENFORCE no rules. ALL or NONE. Because Everyone involved knows this edict. Actions should be taken RETROACTIVELY. A spokesman for the NFL says this is a policy, not a rule. But it has punishments, and they call it a Violation. I AM SO CONFUSED !?!?? Remember me telling you about how the media doesn’t give you the whole story? I just got another example. My blog being small, and feeling more people dhould know about the Game Operation Department’s “Policy”. I contacted a local TV station informing them of above mentioned POLICY. This is… Continue reading NFL Confidence Picks WEEK 4 09/28 –10/01,02/2017
NFL Confidence Picks WEEK 3 09/21,24,25/2017
New rules I learned yesterday. 1. FALCONS vs Lions. If a knee goes down at the exact same moment the ball breaks the goal line plane; the TD is nullified. (My thought is in the event of a tie, like this one, should rule in favor of the score). I watched the replay many, many times and it appears the ball actually broke the plane before the knee went down. But to give the officials a break I will say they most likely can’t see the ball crossing the line and the knees at the same time. For them it is EITHER, the knee, or the ball.. 2. SEAHAWKS VS TITANS. In the case of the “Sherman Call”. It is now against the rules to run into one of your own players. It is SO OBVIOUS, and was in real time, Sherman never even touched the offensive player. He ran smack dab into his own team mate. For those of you who do not know how confidence ranking goes, let me explain. Or to see if you can beat me. IF YOU SEE I MADE A MIS-COPY OF THE GAMES AND TIMES FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME AND TELL ME I GOOFED. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.
