Public Service Announcement (PSA): Personal Safety in Extreme Cold Weather at Outdoor Football Stadiums

Introduction Attending a football game in an outdoor stadium during extreme cold weather can be an exciting experience, but it also comes with significant risks. Hypothermia, frostbite, dehydration, and other cold-related illnesses are real dangers that can impact your health and safety. This PSA is designed to guide you through every step of your game-day experience—from arrival to departure—ensuring you remain safe, warm, and able to enjoy the game without unnecessary risks. Before You Leave: Preparation is Key Proper preparation is the most effective way to protect yourself from extreme cold weather. Here’s what you should do before heading to the stadium: 1. Check the Weather Forecast How long will you be out Look at the forecasted temperature, wind chill, and the possibility of snow, ice, or freezing rain. Consider how long you will be outside, including pre-game tailgating and post-game traffic delays. 2. Dress in Layers Layering is the best way to maintain body heat while allowing flexibility to adjust your clothing if needed. Base Layer (Moisture-Wicking Material): Avoid cotton, which retains moisture. Instead, choose thermal or synthetic fabrics that wick sweat away. Middle Layer (Insulation Layer): Opt for fleece, down, or wool to trap body heat. Outer Layer (Windproof and Waterproof): A high-quality winter coat with wind and water resistance is essential. Additional Cold-Weather Gear Headgear: A thick beanie or insulated hat that covers your ears. Neck Protection: A scarf, neck gaiter, or balaclava. Gloves and Hand Warmers: Insulated gloves or mittens with hand warmers inside. Thermal Socks and Footwear: Wool socks and insulated, waterproof boots to keep your feet warm and dry. 3. Essential Gear to Bring Hand and Foot Warmers: These disposable heat packs provide extra warmth. Blanket: A thermal or fleece blanket can provide additional warmth. Poncho or Rain Gear: Protects against wet snow or freezing rain. Extra Socks and Gloves: In case they get wet. High-Calorie Snacks: Your body burns more energy in the cold, so bring energy bars, nuts, or trail mix. Hot Drinks in a Thermos: Hot chocolate, tea, or coffee can help maintain warmth. Emergency Supplies: A small flashlight, whistle, and emergency blanket in case of an emergency. Arrival at the Stadium 1. Plan Your Transportation If driving, ensure your car is winter-ready with full antifreeze, an ice scraper, and a winter emergency kit. If using public transport, check for delays and service interruptions due to weather conditions. If walking, use well-lit, cleared paths to avoid slipping on ice. 2. Parking and Entry Precautions Choose parking spots with clear pathways and minimal ice. Walk carefully on icy surfaces; use small steps and wear traction-enhancing footwear. Be aware of large crowds pushing through narrow entrances—slipping hazards increase in these conditions. During the Game: Staying Warm and Safe 1. Protect Yourself from the Wind Wind chill can make temperatures feel much colder than they actually are. Sit near a barrier if possible, or bring a windproof blanket to shield yourself. 2. Keep Moving Stand up and stretch periodically to maintain circulation. Wiggle fingers and toes regularly to prevent numbness or frostbite. 3. Stay Hydrated Cold air can be dehydrating, so drink water throughout the game. Avoid excessive alcohol, as it dilates blood vessels, increasing heat loss. 4. Recognize Signs of Cold-Related Illness Hypothermia Symptoms: Shivering, confusion, drowsiness, slurred speech. If you or someone near you exhibits these, seek medical help immediately. Frostbite Symptoms: Numbness, white or grayish-yellow skin, waxy or firm skin. Move to a warmer area if symptoms appear. 5. Know Where Emergency Help is Located Identify first-aid stations and emergency personnel upon arrival. If feeling unwell, seek shelter in heated areas. After the Game: Departure Safety 1. Avoid the Rush Large crowds rushing out can cause trampling or slipping hazards. Consider staying seated for a few extra minutes before leaving. If walking back to your car or public transport, use designated walkways to avoid ice patches. 2. Check Your Vehicle Before Driving Warm up your car before driving but never in an enclosed space. Clear all snow and ice from windows, mirrors, and lights. Drive cautiously on potentially icy roads. 3. Look Out for Others If you see someone struggling with the cold, assist them or alert stadium personnel. Make sure your group stays together, especially in severe conditions. Conclusion: Enjoy the Game Safely Attending a football game in extreme cold weather can be a memorable experience if you take the right precautions. By preparing properly, staying warm, recognizing cold-related illnesses, and being cautious during departure, you can ensure a fun and safe event. Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy the game! Views: 33

THE DISRUPTIVE SHIFT

[adrotate group=”1″] Daylight saving time, that biannual clock dance, disrupts our internal rhythms. Here’s how: Health Risks:  The sudden shift messes with our bodies. Researchers link DST to increased risks of heart attacks, strokes, mood disturbances, and hospital admissions. Inflammatory markers spike due to stress, and car crashes become more likely after the spring forward. Energy Conservation Myth:  Benjamin Franklin’s candle-saving idea birthed DST, but today it’s questionable.  Lighting accounts for less energy use, and extending daylight hours encourages more air conditioning and heating. Mood Disorders:  Contrary to popular belief, extra evening sunlight doesn’t necessarily make us healthier. Data suggests DST exacerbates mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Circadian Rhythms:  Sunlight synchronizes our internal clocks.  While evening light is great for outdoor activities, it can disrupt our sleep patterns, making it harder to fall asleep at our usual bedtime. The Two-Hour Gap Now, let’s focus on the peculiar scenario of a state being two hours ahead of the sun. Imagine waking up while the world outside is still cloaked in darkness. Here’s what happens: Darker Mornings:  After DST, mornings become gloomier. The sun rises later, affecting our wake-up routines. On March 9, Milwaukee will see sunrise at 6:11 a.m., but on March 10, it won’t rise until 7:09 a.m. Evening Sunsets: On the flip side, evenings gain extra daylight. By April 15, the sun sets at 7:36 p.m. in Milwaukee, granting 13 hours and 29 minutes of daylight. Trade-Off:  While longer evenings are delightful, the cost is darker mornings. Finding the right balance is tricky. Longest Day of the Year Remember the Summer Solstice? It’s the longest day, when the sun reaches its zenith. This year, Milwaukeeans will bask in 15 hours and 25 minutes of daylight on June 20. The sun rises at 5:10 a.m. and sets at 8:36 p.m. DST isn’t just about adjusting clocks; it’s about recalibrating our lives. As we spring forward, let’s be mindful of the effects—both positive and negative—of this temporal tango with time.  BUT,  Our government officials do not care about OUR HEALTH.  All they care about is having more time to play Golf and enjoy the benefits of their extravagant lives.  Nevermind the average working man’s needs.  I suggest those who want DST should adjust their times to their schedules, NOT force the general  public to observe DST’ers to go along with their whims. DST’ers I ask you.  How much time have you saved.  (SAVED, as a rule means to put aside for use at a later date).  When to you plan to make that withdrawal of time.  Answer YOU HAVE NOT ONE MINUTE IN YOUR BANK.  YOU WILL NEVER USE IT.  Maybe DST should really be called SDT (SUN DELAYED TIME), at least that would be more HONEST! THE CONS of TRAFFIC CIRCLES

‘[adrotate group=”1″]      Traffic circles, also known as roundabouts or rotaries, are circular intersections that are designed to reduce crashes, injuries, and congestion by eliminating traffic lights and allowing vehicles to flow continuously in one direction.  However, traffic circles are not without their drawbacks.  In this post, we will explore some of the cons of traffic circles and why they are not always the best solution for traffic management. Confusion and Fear      One of the main disadvantages of traffic circles is that they can cause confusion and fear among drivers, especially those who are unfamiliar with them or encounter them infrequently. Traffic circles ,than conventional intersections, such as yielding to the traffic already in the circle, choosing the correct lane, and exiting at the right time.  These rules can vary depending on the size, design, and location of the traffic circle, adding to the complexity and uncertainty.  Some drivers may not know how to navigate a traffic circle properly, leading to mistakes, hesitation, or aggression. Other drivers may avoid traffic circles altogether, preferring to take longer or less convenient routes. Space and Cost   Another disadvantage of traffic circles is that they can take up more space and cost more money than conventional intersections.  Traffic circles typically require a larger footprint than traffic lights, which can be a problem in urban areas where space is limited or valuable.  Traffic circles may also require additional land acquisition, road widening, or relocation of utilities, which can increase the cost and complexity of the project.  Moreover, traffic circles may not be compatible with existing road geometry, traffic patterns, or environmental conditions, requiring additional modifications or adaptations. Safety and Efficiency A third disadvantage of traffic circles is that they may not always improve safety and efficiency as intended.  While traffic circles can reduce the severity and frequency of crashes by eliminating right-angle and head-on collisions, they can also increase the risk of rear-end and sideswipe collisions by forcing drivers to merge, change lanes, and exit at high speeds. Furthermore, traffic circles may not be able to handle large volumes of traffic or accommodate large vehicles, such as buses, trucks, or emergency vehicles, resulting in congestion*, delays, or conflicts. Additionally, traffic circles may pose challenges for pedestrians, bicyclists, and visually impaired people, who may have difficulty crossing the road or finding their way around the circle. *I can attest to not handling large volumes of traffic.  An intersection I frequently used, (with a stop sign would mean a short stop and go).  With the roundabout it took over a half hour to cross that intersection.  I was going North, the East-West traffic was so congested because of roundabouts further down the road causing a steady flow of people going East and  West to and from work.  There was traffic backed up as far as the eye could see.  Now you go back to the other roundabouts and you can imagine the North-South traffic was backed up at each one.  As if the backup wasn’t bad enough imagine the problems caused by the people backed up.  Either trying to cross the street or entering the street we were on, and at the other roundabout traffic circles.  Just accidents, ROAD RAGE, etc.  I came to the conclusion the real gains were made by the TOW TRUCK operators.  I am sure they must have a party everytime a new roundabout is built. (Not really a party, BUT knowing their profits will rise). Conclusion Traffic circles are not a one-size-fits-all solution for traffic management. They have their pros and cons, and their effectiveness depends on various factors, such as the design, location, and context of the traffic circle.  Therefore, traffic engineers and planners should carefully evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of traffic circles before implementing them, and consider alternative or complementary measures, such as traffic signals, signs, markings, or education, to enhance the safety and efficiency of traffic circles. ‘[adrotate group=”1″]       Views: 135

NFL CONFIDENCE PICKS WEEK 3 09/22-25-26/2022

For those of you who are new here. This is  how confidence ranking goes, let me explain. If we were playing an office pool,(which we ARE NOT).  The object is to score the most points. To obtain the score YOU rank the teams by how confident you are a team will win its game.  EXAMPLE:  Say this week we have 16 games.  The team you are most confident will win you would assign the number 16 and follow down to the team you are least confident in and assign that number 1.   You add up the TOTAL CORRECT PICKS.. That would be your score.  We use the Monday night (Last game played) as a TIE BREAKER.  The tie is broken by the closest to the total (that is the COMBINED score of the two participating teams) final score, without going over. YOU can adopt the scoring  described above.  Or, the optional method.  A  negative score for missed games.  We will continue to get a positive score for correct predictions.  EXAMPLE:   if you scored     1 pt on the first game and you had 15 pts on the second game and lost you would still have  1 pt. 1.  HOWEVER. with the same scenario new scoring system would result with a –14 score If we were playing this is how my sheet would look;  My pick will be in bold Capital letters.  you can use circling, underlining, or highlighting.  I will show my correct points in Bold I will fill in my picks Thursday.  Until then feel free to: Just copy and paste for your own Fun Pool Use.  Or to see if you can beat me. Parkland High School Shooting Thoughts

While putting together my thoughts on the recent tragedy in Florida.  I had many things flash through this feeble mind. We had the shock of another terrible loss of young lives.  We had the “STUDENT ACTOR”.  We had the Scripted Interviews.  We had the usual MEDIA SPIN.  We had the Anti Gunners.  We had the Pro-Gunners.  We had the Sheriff’s men who failed to enter the school. So let us look at these things. First the Shooter.  Had he not lost his parents at such a tender age, would he not have acted the way he did.  It appears that his adoptive family, noticed he was troubled.  According to reports the local constabulary, even the FBI, had concerns about the mental/emotional stability of Nineteen (19) year old Nikolas Cruz, EVEN the school personnel had concerns. They expelled him.  I have not read or heard anything where these people tried to get him help.  Had they tried to get him help, would it have possibly  detoured this terrible event.  Probably, maybe not.  We don’t know.  BUT, it would have been worth a try.  Should he have had guns.  Given his  background reports we have seen; NO! BUT, there is always a but;  I believe this to be where the LAW should have impounded his guns, until further investigation, and psychic evaluation was attained.  BUT, WAIT !  He did have grenades. Where did these come from?  I am sure they are harder to get than guns. Aren’t they?  Seems they should be. Now the student and  teacher population of this School. It is always a bad sign for our future when innocent young people needlessly lose their lives.  Seventeen, 17, lives.   I would not want my children exposed to this.  Nor to the pain of those who were at the school or worse witnessed the unfortunate incident. I know of no Teacher who leaves for school thinking I may be killed at work today.  Who knows what emotional and/or mental damage may have been done. We all know the MEDIA, has a penchant to SLANT the news the way they want it. How many times have you watched political events, or anything, only to have the NEWS MEDIA, say “Now let US tell you what you really heard”.  ?  I remember learning in grade school, then having my newspaper editor reinforce.  A reporter tells WHO, is in the story. WHAT, is the story. WHEN, the event occurred.  WHY, did the event occur.   The WHY,  becomes the gray area.  You have heard of sport team announcers getting fired because they said something the OWNER found to be derogatory to the team.  Players get fined, for the same thing.  It most probably is TRUE.  BUT, are contrary to what the BOSS wants. The same is true with reporters, They may disagree with management, BUT, (see here it is again; I wonder how many times I will use it today),  THEIR JOB maybe on the line.  Some may simply state their opinions, (NOT FACTS), In other words they EDITORIALIZE.   NOTE:  Editorialize is what I do.  After all this BLOG is for MY OPINIONS.  I share them with you as MY opinions.  Not hardcore news.  (See the difference) Is the media above scripting interviews. NO happens quite often. Are the anti-gunners above hiring actors to further their propaganda.  SURE ARE.  How about the Pro-gunners.  Could be.  Probably do.  But I prefer to think They would be ABOVE taking advantage of such an event as this. One thing ANTI-GUNNERS are quick to point out is “Law enforcement is only a call  away”.  In this case they were just OUTSIDE the door.  THEY WERE A LOT OF HELP.  Had teachers been able to have guns….Would that have altered the outcome?  Hard to tell.  I am not sure I would be able to pull the trigger.  I think I would be more inclined to pull that trigger to protect someone else (KIDS) than I would be to protect myself.  BUT, I am sure if it was him or me, I would choose ME.  What I am saying is; if it were just me and him, I would most likely not go hunt him.  BUT, if he came hunting for me.  DEFINITELY ME. Back to the Law Enforcement Officers.  YOU CANNOT COUNT ON THEM.  My own experience. 1. I had a motorcycle stolen off my front porch.  I called the police.  I was told;  “ASK YOUR NEIGHBORS IF THEY SAW ANYTHING”.  ” COME TO THE STATION AND FILL OUT  A REPORT”.   2. My High School son was threatened that he would be shot when he walked out of the school, (a disagreement about a girl),  I called the cops.  I was told, “Just one of those teenage things.  You probably should pick him up and take him home after school”. 3. I had my Mustang convertible top slashed, the dash destroyed. My truck window smashed and the stereos stolen from both.  Witnesses knew who did it.  The Cops knocked on the culprits door, and said, “Did you steal those radios’? He said, “No”.  The cops said okay.  That was all there was to it. 4. While watching a friends property while he was away.  One of his relatives called said he had received a threat of vandalism to the property at some time soon.  I called our local County Mounties.  “It will be some time before we can get there”, they said.  It took me about a half hour to get there.  No damage yet.  One (1) hour passed.  No County Mounties.  After waiting another half hour, I called again. “We haven’t dispatched anyone to that location yet” Yeah. Right.  The Law is only a few minutes away.   HA,HA. The Right to Bear Arms is a constitutional right.  A Right that state shall not be infringed upon.  That means NO ONE can stop you from legally owning or carrying a gun.  There have been exceptions made.  Felons, people with a misdemeanor of domestic battery, mental disorders, or if so adjudicated by a judge. Driving is… Continue reading Parkland High School Shooting Thoughts

Watch For Vehicle Backup Lights

I hate to preach on Motorcycle safety.   BUT…… I just learned something new from an article I read.  We know there are many things to watch out for when we are riding.  Just the other day I avoided a run in with a Semi by watching his front wheels.  I was going North and he was heading South.  When I got about 15 feet from him I noticed he had his wheels turned for a left turn into lumber yard he was going to make a delivery to.  He was trying to find his gate, and didn’t see me.  Good thing there was no curb but about 12 feet of level grass to my right.  I braked and slid my bike in the direction of the grass and was able to come to a safe stop.  When the truck driver realized what had happened he apologized.  No Harm.  No Foul. Then I happen to read a news story about a motorcyclist who was killed when a motorist in an SUV backed into him.  Seems the SUV driver, was looking for a friends house.  When she realized she had passed the address given to her; she shifted to reverse and started to back up.  When she looked in the rear view mirror she saw an explosion.  The motorcyclist  was traveling about 40-45 mph.  (There was no mention of the speed limit.)  When he crashed into the back of the reversing vehicle. If the accident happened at night one should be able to see the backup lights work.  If it was day it could be another story.  Perhaps the backup lights weren’t working. The thing I learned is to add watching for backup lights, on slow or stopped vehicles.   I know in some of the larger cities you may have bumper to bumper traffic with a 45 mph speed limit.  In these cases I see many vehicles, including motorcycles bunch up closer than the usual interval.   So even if he saw the backup light he may not have had time to avoid the collision.  But at the same time why would one decide to backup in such a situation.  I don’t know all the details, as they were not given in the story. So add backup lights to your list of things to watch for. That Is How I See It. find find find Views: 144

Parents Must Pay For Bus Ride To School

Franklin Township in central Indiana sold school buses to an independent firm for $1.  Now parents of the children in this district have a choice to make.  Take them to school, and pick them up. (Which would have been impossible for me as a working single parent).  Let them walk in the dark of the morning.  Dark because Supreme Ruler Mitch Daniels, deemed Indiana, a state which lines up in the CENTRAL time zone, observe ATLANTIC time (AKA Eastern DAYLIGHT SAVINGS time).  Which puts Indiana residents 2 hours ahead of the sun.  Thus children walking in the dark to school.  Or, PAY  about $475.oo a year for the first student in the family, with a discount for other children of the family. From what I read a family of 2 students will pay $900.oo  So, the way I figure it the rest of the families students ride for $425.oo each.  That means a family who is either living on unemployment, or welfare, or working and earning the minimum wage will really have little choice, but to make them walk, and risk being kidnapped.  Hit by a car or truck or/and harmed in some way.  Heck it would be a drain on any family.  By the time you clothe, and pay at least a couple of dollars for school lunches, extra curricular fees, and book rentals.   Plus the BUS fee of approximately $50.oo, per sport, per student participant  imposed on them. This all started when the Franklin Township school board decided they wanted more money than was available and wanted to raise taxes.  The referendum was voted down.  So, it seems to me their reaction, was an immature…We’ll make you pay one way or the other!  Other schools, faced the same cost cutting measures, and most have met the cuts needed without any repercussions.  The most penalties, school districts have made is a modest bus fee for sports, and extra  curricular activities.  But in some areas the business people have donated the money to cover those fees.  A pride in their communities. Some schools/sports are putting on charity events to cover these costs. These are public schools using tax payer money.  What effect will this have on the community?  Will people move away?  Will business close due to lack of customers, or workforce.  With a drop in enrollment also comes a drop in state funds.    The formula is so convoluted, I’m surprised a lawyer can figure it out.  But the way it seems to me,  a smaller school get less money from the state than a larger school.  (Which seems a little unfair).  Each day or part thereof missed by a student equals a deduction in the amount received by that school. I’ve rambled on too long.  What it appears we have here is a very greedy school system which has little empathy with the well being of the community children and a lust for more money.  It would serve them right if everyone moved out of their district, (which I know they either can’t or won’t).   I believe it is time for the voters, community leaders,  and parents, take back the school system. It seems apparent to me the school board has no concern about their students.  Will the harm the children face walking to school in the dark.  Or the hardship put on families affect the members.  Probably not.  The only thing that will affect them is a loss of MONIES. Could this happen to your children?  Is your community next? That Is How I See It. have been Views: 143

Accident 45 Years Ago Adds To 2011 Death Toll

This is one for the books.  Perhaps a legal question.  Or just an example of how our politicians use statistics, and the like. According to what I read.  Forty Five years ago a woman in Northern Indiana was injured in an automobile accident.  Extremely injured,  she became paralyzed.  Now 45 years later she died.  Her death went into the records as an automobile accident death for the year 2011. I found this to be puzzling.  She has lived 45 years after the accident.  But according to the records she died of injuries received in the accident 45 years ago.  Of course I realize she was injured, and quite badly.  BUT.  What I don’t understand is what kind of injury from an automobile accident can kill you 45 years later.  And why this would go on the record as a 2011 automobile death.  One would naturally think if you live 45 years after an accident, there must have been another cause for death.  Will the auto insurance pay a death benefit after 45 years.  Will this have to go to court.  If the other driver was responsible,  will he now face charges of vehicular homicide, or something.  There just seems to be so many ramifications of this case. Any one have an answer for me? Doesn’t make sense to me. That Is How I See It.   have been became Views: 356

Passenger Arrested For Being Drunk

Look out America!  Indiana is at it again. DEC. 2008.  Indianapolis Indiana. We all know if we have had too much to drink.  We also know what the Public Service Announcements, (PSA)  tell us to do in this situation.  Have a DESIGNATED DRIVER. One night in INDIANA a lady after parytying too hard found her in the situation she knew she could not drive, (legally or possibly anyway).  Being responsible enough to seek out someone to drive her home, she found a volunteer. And now, as Paul Harvey would say, is the rest of the story. As this lady and her designated driver were on the way to her hone,  an officer of the law noticed the vehicle had a license plate light out,  Of course he had to pull the car over.   That is when he discovered the driver’s license was not valid, (perhaps, expired, or not issued, I don’t know.  This lady admitted she had too much to drink couldn’t drive.  The officer had no choice to arrest her for PUBLIC INTOXICATION .  Now let’s back  up here a minute.  This means if you are sitting in your car (which is private property,  you are actually not in private property but public property????, I’m not a real drinker only maybe have one beer when with friends,  usually I drink my Coca-Cola.  But this doesn’t seem right to me.  On a side note I know of one poor chap who was having a halloween poker party,  He had a car for sale which was sitting on his property near the highway.  Kids came by and were throwing eggs at the car.  He of course had been drinking while playing cards.  He decided he would move the car.  Only thing someone had siphoned off the gas.  he left the keys in the car, went to his garage to get some gas. Put about a gallon in the tank.  as he approached the car door a State or County Mountie pulled up with lights flashing and proceeded to issue him a DUI.  (He was at his car with the ignition key in the car not running, as he has just put gas in it.  On his own propery) Another unconfirmed story I heard of in this same county.  A guy was riding his lawnmower, mowing his own yard.  When an officer, came up to him and issued him a ticket for violation of the” open container law”  while  being on his mower.   If you aren’t aware of the open container law. It means no alcoholic beveridge  can be in a moving vehicle unless it is in the trunk or some where the driver cannot reach. Any way back to the story.  The lady was convicted of Public Intoxication.  She appealed this ruling.  The Indiana Supreme Court ruled 4-1  to uphold the conviction.  According to their ruling the justices stated the conviction followed the law.  Because she admitted to being Drunk.  Cars traveling on public roads are considered to be public places. According to the case prosecutor The Supreme Court made the right ruling.  The law needs changing. I think it was a miscarriage of justice.  She did what the government’s PSA said by getting a designated driver.  So what does this mean?  We all know the police need no real reason to pull you over.  But what about real public transportation like Taxi’s.  It seems to me come New Year’s any Taxi can be pulled over and the responsible person who called the cab to help save his and other people’s lives could end up in jail for PUBLIC INTOXICATION. This year Indiana enacted 300 laws.  My sources tell me the local newspapers nor TV stations have listed them.  But the state will tell you ignorance is no excuse.  If you had 300 new laws dumped on you, could you remember them all. In closing I ask YOU.  Is it fair for the GOVERNMENT to instruct you to do something in a particular circumstance the arrest you for doing it? That Is How I See It Views: 658

Sign Helps Aid Safety For Motorcycles

As we all know the number one reason given for auto/truck and Motorcycles is, “I didn’t see it.” I know this to be true.  Even as a rider myself, (and I’m sure I’m not alone here),  I watch out for motorcycles everywhere I go even during the winter months,  just in the event there is a winter rider. But I find I sometimes do not see bike.  Sometimes they just pop up over a hill, and sometimes they are hidden by another vehicle, and sometimes they decide to pass  just as they approach an intersection.  And I admit sometimes I just don’t see them the first time,  That is why I take a second, and third look. But I think what I have recently become aware of a sign some cities and areas are posting along the streets and highways.  I only wish more of these signs that alert drivers to the presence of motorcycles were posted in all areas.  For a start they could post at city limits. Park entrances, and areas where motorcyclists tend to gather.  I know in our little town we have a “watering hole” where you will find more motorcycles than cars, or trucks.  Maybe to get things rolling this business could purchase the signs and petition the state,  (as it sits on a state highway, and would need their permission to put the sign up)   There is another place about 15 miles south which is frequented by bikers.  I intend to talk to these establishments  and our town about putting up these signs. Below is picture of the sign.   Will you help in your areas.  Perhaps it could be a club project. That Is How I See It.               I recently became aware of some cities posting signs to remind motorists of the presence of MOTORCYCLES. I wish more cities and areas had these signs posted. became find find find Views: 234
